Looking for a new game to try after Fallout 4.

Ok guys, here is the situation. My wife is not a gamer. In fact she's always harped on me for gaming, but enter Fallout 4. She loves it. She is addicted. So now I want to see what else she would like. I've tried to ask her what she likes about Fallout
4, but it's a difficult question to answer.

So here is what I've gotten. She doesn't like a long linear story, so open world with lots of side quests is very important. It has to be somewhat simple, or at least easy to pick up. Customization is good, but it doesn't have to be super in depth. Graphics
are important too.

I've tried to get her to play both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but she is not keen on either of them. Fallout 3 she tried twice, but she couldn't get over the graphics.

Finally, it has to be somewhat realistic. Now I know post-apocalyptic isn't necessarily realistic, but she doesn't want fantasy (so no Elder Scrolls) and she doesn't want space (so Mass Effect is out).

If anyone can give me any ideas I'd greatly appreciate it. I would prefer it is playable on the Xbox One, but I do have a PS3 as well, so that is another option.

Codes not redeeming for 3 different games on my xbox 1

I have received 3 codes for 3 separate games (Fallout 3, Tom Clancy Rainbow six new vegas and New vegas 2)

I received the code for Fallout 3 via a private message from Xbox Live on the 24th December 2015 after purchasing Fallout 4 and I received the codes for both rainbow six games inside the box for the new Tom Clancy Under Siege game

Whenever I try and redeem the codes i get a message saying "something went wrong", "sorry about that, please try again later"

D-Pad Control of Headset Audio

Using the new 3.5mm Xbox One controller without Stereo Headset adapter, I know the current method for controlling game audio is through in-game menus. Looking at new screen shots of the Fallout 4 Xbox One controller, it looks like there are audio control
markings on the D-Pad...is the D-Pad an option for controlling game audio? Link to the Fallout 4 controller:

borderlands! its not realistic but its tons of fun! or metro last light its a lot like fallout in atmosphere and its very cheap right now!

 

GTA V. Open world, tons of side missions, definitely not a linear, on-rails experience.

 

Red Dead Redemption....is a possibility

 

Some great games listed. It's a pity she won't give Mass Effect and Skyrim a chance. They truly are two of the greatest games going, especially sine there is a new Mass Effect coming at the end of the year, it would set her up nicely.

To move away from these sorts of games and incorporate some of the survival and building aspects she may enjoy - have you tried Ark: Survival Evolved? It's only in preview at the moment but it still has a ton of content with regular updates. You can download
a demo that you can play for an hour if you want to try before you buy. Basically you wake on a pre-historic island and have to survive, learning to build as you go and taming dinosaurs for you own convenience. Myself and the girlfriend moved onto this after
Fallout and we both really enjoy it. Worth a look even for yourself!

 

Mad Max is a good open world game that's pretty simplistic.
