Are you, or your friends on a test build of the game by chance?

If you're on a test build, that does not always let users join games.

There are no lobbys like other games in minecraft. If your friends have minecraft you can join them if they have their worlds open. Most of the time they won't. This is because some people will destroy what you build. If your friends game is open you will
see a screen saying so when the game starts. From that screen you can join them. You can also invite friends to your own world. It is also possible to allow friends of friends to join your game, just go through the settings and you will find this option. I
also suggest going to the minecraft forum here:

Redownloading your profile to allow cloud saves to load up again is also another option.

Remove profile:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Choose the profile that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

Add profile:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.

Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

Important Make sure that you do not select Get a new account unless you want to create a new Microsoft account.

Enter the password for your Microsoft account, and then select Enter.

Review the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In, security & passkey preferences to finish adding your profile to the console.
