    I'd like to be able to record longer clips too, and I'd like the clips to be in higher quality. 720p is fine, but the bit rate is too low and it leads to macro-blocking and other unwanted noise. It looks fine on a phone screen, but when you play a clip back
    on a TV or computer monitor, you can clearly see that it's noticeably inferior to one created with a capture card.

    Yea I think they should add two extra option for 15 minutes and 30 minutes 5 minutes just doesn't cut it for recording a full game

    Though it's not a huge deal I wouldn't be against adding options for longer clips. Maybe a 10 or 15 minute option.

    I agree the Game DVR needs a longer recording limit, but here it depends on memory. If you have quite a lot of memory, than you can obliviously record for a longer amount of time. Now here my friend & I both have a YouTube channel & we take it seriously.
    Trying to entertain an audience, but those 5 min recording limits mess everything up. My friend & I would love to see this feature be added into an update in order to entertain more of an audience & a longer way to entertain the audience. (Mine:

    not to revive an old thread... BUT the clips are cloud recorded... not locally... so memory is a non issue.. more of as bandwidth and useless issue

    5mins is long enough, stop being cheap and get a recorder, if xbox made the recording any longer the quality would be that of the mud toaster lol, well of you could paste them together but you too lazy?

    There's no reason why the quality would have to be reduced just because they allowed you to record longer clips. There's already an area of the hard drive reserved for game clips that can hold a ton of them. If they increased the time limit to 15 minutes,
    it would just reduce the total number of clips you could store (locally) before you had to start deleting them, assuming you were recording 15 minute clips otherwise it would be no different to how it is now.

    First off Sigma, you are wrong.. there is no area in the HDD for clips.. all of the clips are saved to cloud... not locally.. how do we know this?? go to your phone... go to Smart glass,, go to my clips... how did they get there??? MAGIC!

  9. Actually, I believe that at least some of it IS stored on the internal HDD, at least as part of temporary memory for a short time. My connection isn't good enough to upload that much information to the Cloud that quickly. Just this morning and all last night,
    I struggled to upload a 4-minute clip to the Cloud that failed at least 4x after hours of attempting to upload it. If it was all Cloud-based, my network would fall completely apart.

    @tohellnbak - You're misinterpreting how it works.

    The game clips are stored on the hard drive initially, then they get uploaded to Xbox Live. The Xbox One is constantly recording gameplay to the hard drive, as that enables you to say "Xbox record that" and capture the last 30 seconds of what's been recorded,
    which is then saved to the hard drive as a unique clip and uploaded to Live, then you can view them via SmartGlass and on Xbox.com.

    If the hard drive wasn't involved at all, the only way it would work is if your gameplay was constantly being streamed to Xbox Live so that when you say "Xbox record that", the previous 30 seconds could be captured. Given that a 30 second clip is about 15MB
    in size, that would lead to the console uploading 1.8GB of data every hour just so you could use the Game DVR feature (or even if you didn't use it), which would make no sense.

  12. I think 5 minutes is fine just wish they added more transitions and effects. Just a simple fade in and out would be cool. Also have an option to hide all clips recorded until you have edited and made the video you want
