LONG download and $ to install game from disc?

I am not a game system expert, but it seems like something is wrong with my son's Xbox One. It is THE THING he wanted for Christmas, but we have had so much trouble with it. It takes FOREVER for games to install from the discs. He used Christmas money to
buy a new game today for $40 or more. The disc has been in the console for 2 hours or more. Every time we select the game, it goes to the store, and it appears we are being asked to pay $4.99 for something we've already purchased. I am looking for support
for getting my son up and running with his game so Santa isn't out hundreds of dollars and my son can play with his gift.

Disc or Digital Games, Which Downloads Faster

Disc is faster.

Disconnect from the internet, install the disc, then connect and start it. You'll be prompted to download any patches.

Digital requires you to download the entire game before you install patches so it takes longer.

I can not find and install my game on Xbox live store.

Hello, I would like to know how do I download a game, I bought long ago, but uninstalled it because I wanted more space, and that days ago I was trying to re-download and install the game, the more he was no longer on xbox live store , already tried

When you have disc games, it's usually quicker to install them if you take the console offline. Once you reconnect you may still have to download updates though.

If you are installing from disc then you can disconnect from xbox live and install the game. When you finish connect with xbox live and start the disc, at that time you will be prompted to download updates. The reason it is taking so long to install is not
only are you installing the game you are also downloading updates. The last update to prepare for DLC was over 19 GB.

When you say downloading a game, do you mean installing from a disc or downloading from Xbox Live? If installing from disc, then there is a some vibration from the the spin of the disc when the game is installing.

If you're downloading the game from the Store by download, the time it takes is entirely dependent on your download speed and bandwidth, and this will include mandatory update downloads too. Full downloads typically take a very long time, game sizes are huge.

If you're installing from the disc, it'll need to do the mandatory update first as well, but you should be able to play from the disc while it's installing. If it's still doing the update (and is showing a very low completion percentage) then stay patient.

It seems abnormal to take that long however, you can go to My Games and Apps, pause or cancel the installation and start over.

If it doesn't recognize the license, then you'd be unable to start it, and get the error message "Do you own this game or app?".

Also, if you haven't bought it digitally, you wouldn't be able to download it at all, as the button to download it would be a Buy button.

Are you downloading a digital game, or are you trying to install the game from disc? If you're installing from disc, be aware, that GTA V has gotten a LOT of HUGE updates, and will download these updates while it's installing from disc. Sometimes even stopping
the disc and downloading the necessary update files.

Depending on your internet connection, your installation might appear to have stopped, but since it's a several gigabyte large download will take a long time from going from one percent indicator to the next.

Or do you actually get the status message that the "Installation stopped"?
