Login via Microsoft account is impossible [Windows 7]

Hello, I think I am having an issue connecting to minecraft with my microsoft account, which recently got migrated from a mojang account.

When I click on the "Microsoft login" button, It loads for a while before saying it doesn't work and to check the internet connection, which works just fine. I am basically stuck on the first page, cannot login with mojang anymore, no parameters available to change (except language but doesnt seem relevant)
I am certain the migration is a sucess, as when I log in on the minecraft website with the microsoft account, I get the acces and the same account.
I also know this is recent as I had been able to play beforehand to the game, both single and multiplayer modes.
I am on a Windows 7 machine and am unable to uprade to Windows 10 due to performance issues.
I have tried to fix it by reading other threads discussing similar bugs but no solution seems to have been found. I already tried to fully reinstall the laucher, repair it and reboot the computer, yet nothing works.
Is there anyway for me to be able to acess the game ? I can screenshot the small error message if needed or reexplain the problem if I wasn't clear in this message.

I bought the game about 5 years ago on this website, and i did download the java edition on that page specifically for windows 7 and was working as intended as I did manage to play the game before. As for the website you just indicated, it will not work because even if I am logged in with the microsoft account that got the game, it still wants me to pay, and for other version (there is a free trial somewhere) it is specified that you do need windows 10 or higher to make it work. The error message translates to :

"An error has occured during a connexion attempt. If the problem lasts, verify your Internet connexion."

However my connexion is just fine as it is able to read and send messages here, so no problem. Plus this message doesn't show when clicking on mojang account, but i can't connect trough there. I will also send a message to the support and post another reply if I ever manage to solve this issue

Are you running the Java edition, or the Windows 10 version? It looks like the Launcher is only for Windows 10 and 11.

Have you purchased the game straight from the Minecraft website? Get Minecraft | Minecraft That would be the way to play on Windows 7.

You can also try downloading this version from the Microsoft Store to see if it runs on your PC.
