Login Required to Play Xbox One Games??!!!!!!

I just purchased an Xbox One for my daughter for Christmas. In the past we have had Xbox 360 systems but my son has moved out and taken the Xbox 360 which is why the new system was purchased.

We have had nothing but trouble trying to play games on the Xbox One. Am I correct assuming that you cannot play games on the Xbox One system without logging into your account online??!! If I am not correct, can someone please point me to a link showing
how to play games without logging into Xbox Live?

If I am correct, I cannot believe Microsoft would be so short-sighted as to make this a requirement to play games. The fact that the website has been experiencing connectivity issues since Christmas is an obvious example. What about these other scenarios?......

1. ISP provider has issues with internet.

2. Internet hardware experiences issues in your home.

3. What if a family falls on hard time economically and has to discontinue internet service?

I'm seriously considering returning this system, the games, controllers, etc that was purchased because of this requirement to log on to Xbox Live to access your profile. If Microsoft would have made this requirement evident at the time of purchase, I would
have re-considered. Kids should be able to play their games regardless of whether they want to connect online.

Again, if anyone knows if games can be played without logging in, my kids and myself would be greatly appreciative.

Xbox live???

You can use the same login information to sign into Xbox from your PC, but Xbox Live Gold membership is required to play online.

 

Parent Required Login

Actions Prior - I signed into xbox.com and microsoft.com on my ios device.

(Not sure what affect this has on me logging in but something im sure)

Hello! I am having an issue in which I choose my xbox account to login on my Xbox One. It buffers for a second then requires me to choose a parent account to be able to sign in to my account. The thing is, I am the parent account. So, once I log in to the
"parent account", It then buffers for a few seconds then asks the same request, "We need your mom, dad or other responsible adult to give permisisons for you to finish setting up."

(I have an automatic login on my xbox one, so when i select my profile it doesnt require password)

But this time it asked for my microsoft account password. Then procceeds to ask for parent.

I can successfully log in to other accounts and modify settings but not my own.

Help!!!

 

Settings>Network>Play Offline

 

Yeah, I tried Settings>Network>Play Offline and it didn't work. The game said I needed to log into Xbox Live to retrieve profile information.

Why isn't profile information located on the console and then updated when you connect?

Has anyone been able to play games with the setting Jayadub mentioned?

 

This has always worked in the past unless the game itself requires a secondary network connection such as logging into Origin for EA games or Uplay for some of the UbiSoft games. What game are you trying to play?

 

Trying to play Destiny and Minecraft. I guess there's no way of knowing in advance if a game requires the login?

 

Destiny requires an internet connection. It's an MMO game.

 

Hmmmm makes me wonder how Destiny works on 360. I would expect it plays as a normal FPS game. Also doesn't explain why Minecraft will not work without a login. I'm surprised Microsoft didn't design the console to require login connection during initial
setup and then create a profile which resides on the console to track games and achievements but could be synced when the user chooses to go live.

I think I'll be returning this console to avoid any future problems like this arising again.

Set your console to home, some games can be funny about offline i had same trouble with D3 this fixed it, the ddos attacks are messing up online for both ps4 and Xbox1 i have trouble with the crew, ac unity and gta v online atm so i would think destiny will
have similar problems, i hope you get sorted soon, you could also try hard reset(unplug you xbox from power) this can help sometimes, gl.

 

SyntonicEagle, the Xbox One should not require an online connection to play games. The only requirement ever suggested was a online check-in every 24 hours that was removed several months before console launch.

Destiny in particular requires an online connection on any system.

I'm sorry you have been experiencing issues.

If you are willing to try a few things before returning the console, I'd like to help you solve your issue.

 

I'd like you to try designating the Xbox One as your Home Xbox to solve the problem

You can designate only one console as your home Xbox.

1.Say “Xbox, go to settings,” or choose Settings from My games & apps.

2. Select "My Xbox" from the left side of the screen.

3.Select "My home Xbox".

4. Review the information, and then select "Make this my home Xbox" to designate the console as your home Xbox.

Then try selecting "Play Offline".

If that doesn't work, you may be able to solve the issue by performing a hard reset.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will power down.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don’t see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

 

I just bought my Xbox One and was very *** off to find out you can't play offline. I'm currently waiting for the cable company to come hook up my Internet so from the day I bought the xbone, 12/20/2014, until the day they come connect me, 12/30/2014, my
Xbox sits as an expensive paper weight. I called support several times only to get the suggestions posted in this thread (go offline and My Xbox Home) which none work. I can't play my physical copy of Forza 5 and my downloaded version of Assassin's Creed
is playable but won't save progress since I'm offline. So everytime I turn the system off and on again I have to start all over from the first mission. Absolutely unacceptable for such an expensive machine. I can't believe Microsoft really believed people
will like this. So I boxed it back up and am going to return it today and go with a gaming PC. Just wondering if anyone knows if I need to wipe out or factory reset the Xbox before returning. And if I do, does it have to be done online?

 

It expressly states on the box "Broadband Internet Required". What good will a gaming PC do you without internet service? Your story as presented doesn't make much sense.
