Locked out off account. Please help

When I try logging into my other Microsoft account that I use for my Xbox account it says “We have detected unusual activity on your Microsoft account” “For your security and to ensure that only you have access to your account, we will ask you to verify your identity and change your password.”

this is quite an old email and I no longer have access to the number that’s link to it you I have to fill out a form however I have done this twice and it says Unfortunately, we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account.

I don’t know what else I can do as I’ve tried calling and the robot just puts the phone down and doesn’t let me speak to an agent. I have recently had a iCloud password leak so I think this might be to do with this but I have spent hundreds of pounds on this account and I really need it back

Hello Josh, what you read regarding the procedure of the two-step verification is correct, when it is active it will not work.

What you should try is, contact Xbox Customer Service and ask for an Account Takeover, (ATO) and you'll do the entire information procedure with someone from Microsoft Support.

Hey Kyle I didn't ask MICROSOFT to do anything I was just logging on and and MICROSOFT DECIDED TO LOCK MY ACCOUNT... Is it because they have an algorithm to check for dead email accounts AND then SCAM the users out of money..... THIS IS FRAUD.. I have proved I own the games. AND this automated online password recovery process is nonsense. AS I HAVE SAID I KNOW MY PASSWORDS. So I an now left out of pocket and FEEL ROBBED because MICROSOFT Decided they want me to change my password.

I WOULD HAVE LOST LESS IF I HAD BEEN HACKED....SCAMMED BY MICROSOFT

I know I'm months late to this, but did you ever manage to regain access to your account?? I just hit the exact same problem yesterday, and it is terrible. I hope you were able to regain access.

If you were/are could you relay what you had to do to me so I can also navigate out of this predicament?
