Locked out of my XBox account, have never even done online gaming???

I've had the same gamertag for over 10 years. It's attached to an old email address that no longer exists, from my last house where only a local isp provided service. I have never done online gaming, the only reason I had the account was for gaming locally
and to update the Xbox, etc....now they have detected "suspicious activity" and locked out the account. One day I could sign in, the next day I couldn't. I tried a couple years ago to associate that old gamertag to my current gmail based address and for whatever
reason it wouldn't let me, so I just continued on. Now this happens, and I can't login in as the account has been blocked, and the reset thing where you wait a day for Microsoft to review has failed, chat is useless. Guessing this means 10+ years of game progress
is lost for no good reason.

my god microsoft just fix the problem! PS3 have never locked my out of my account and the fact that for the game i want to play, i need to be online to save it. THIS REALY SUCKS

 

Randomly received notice of enforcement

Opened up my xbox account today to find a notice of enforcement action blocking a bunch of xbox live features. Ive got no idea how this happened, i havent even talked online to others for ages so it seems to have come out of nowhere. Wondering how i can
find out why my accounts had this randomly done to it?

 

All is not lost You will probably lose access to your account for 30 days but thats better then losing 10 years of game progress.

You know the email and password for the account correct? Its just when you sign in it says it looks like someone else maybe trying to use your account. This normally happens if you change ISP and your xbox sees you being signed in with a different IP address.

So if you know your email and password follow these steps. AGAIN like I said above this will lock you out of your account but should still allow you access back to your account after 30 days.

1. Sign in at account.live.com/addassocid this will bring up a verification wanting to verify ownership by sending a verification code out to your security proof.

Now since you know the email and current password but do not have access to the current security proof you can

2. click on that you dont have access to any of these.

This will allow you to change the current security proof but like I said before there will be a 30 day hold on your account till the new security proof takes affect.

Once the new security proof takes affect you should be able to sign into your account it will probably still say something about the suspicious activity but with the new security proof you can prove that you are the owner of the account by them sending you
the code to your new security proof.

With the new security proof in place you can then also go to the account.live.com/addassocid website and add a new email to the account to sign in with and then make the new email the primary email and then you will be able to remove that old email from
the account.
