Locked out of EA account

I just bought Madden 18 and it's prompting me to sign into my EA account. The problem is my EA account is really old (I haven't purchased an EA game in several years) and the email associated with it is now deactivated. Is there a way to resolve this or
create a new EA account and tie the new one with my xbox live account?

EA support had no solutions and suggested I return the game.

Long story short, my dads email was the email linked to the account for recovery purposes but because he passed away recently I can't use his email to recovery my account as I don't know the password into it, instead I tried to use my own phone number but
that takes 30 days to come into effect, so now I'm locked out of my account with no way of getting back in.

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If this is an account issue with EA then you'll need to contact them and speak with them again as no one here can help with EA account issues.

 

EA has instructions but it does sound like you need to contact them to do it. I'd give it another try since they do link to these instructions from their account help "If you’ve changed your email address or no longer have access to the one you used to create
your account, swap emails from one account to another."
