    Locked in the store? Home button and Cortana won't work right.


    So what is up with this? Every once in a while, entering the store makes it impossible to get back to the home page. Trying to ise Cortana or the xbox home button brings up an error message "Something went wrong." Don't have any idea how I've been getting
    this issue 0x800706ba, not to mention the error code tool one xbox.com doesn't have any idea what it is either. Would like an explanation as to why this is happening when I have near-omptimal internet settings and my detailed network stats are bring bavk constants
    of the following:

    Dl. Speed: 11.29

    Up. Speed: 2.32

    Packet Loss: 0% to 15% (usually, unless I'm streaming stuff, then I've never checked)

    MTU: 1480 (no idea what this is for)

    Latency(ping): 50ms to 200ms (usually)

    Wireless strength: 60% to 100% ( has never dropped below 60% when I've checked)

    Even with live having issues, it makes no sense as to why I can't get back to my home page from the store. There shouldn't be a reason in internet connectivity to explain why a core function of my console and controller won't work.

    My Xbox One controllers home button isn't working

    I'm have a similar issue! My home button won't work and my Xbox won't let me type anything on the Xbox key board but the YouTube keyboard works!

    Good morning, I had that problem with the Cortana settings locking up, when it locks up press the xbox button on the controller to get back to the home screen and then hit the menu button to go back to the settings, I had to do that a couple of times to
    finally get to turn Cortana off.

    Ha thanks but this won't fix itself I think Microsoft needs to get their coders in to recode for freeview.

    As for cortana not working with xbox, I have no idea what they are doing to poor cortana but it's not good.

    Thanks for responding.

    Actually, the app doesn't even crash, it just goes back to the sign in page, so no error messages.

    I turned off Cortana and it fixed the problem so I guess I'll just have to live without that for now

    I guess I could try uninstalling it and turning Cortana back on, but it was hard enough to turn it off without the system locking up

    Of course now my Kinect won't work and I keep getting signed out of my profile for no reason

    Why is the experience of using Cortana getting worse with every Xbox One Update?

    I went into settings and changed it back to 'xbox' instead of 'hey cortana' as soon as it got changed to cortana. it still works as well as it always did, which was never great. microsoft won't admit to abandoning cortana. but they certainly abandoned
    Kinect. as of September 2018, there is amazon alexa integration with xbox. which should give you an idea how invested microsoft is or isn't in cortana on xbox. I don't have an xbox one S, but I don't even think it has cortana.
