Locked funds...

I know others have had this issue in the past so I suppose it's nothing new but I recently bought MS credit online which when redeemed showed as Euro in my account (I am in the UK). I did contact MS customer support on the online chat thing and attempted
to change my region to another territory (the credit then showed up but I still couldn't spend it?). Seems a pretty ludicrous way of trading within Europe to me, especially as the EU commission is trying to move to a common digital trading platform for our
region:

I understand that this is MS terms and that's up them why they choose to trade in this way. I have written these funds off now, can't be hassled chasing it as it really is more hassle than it's worth but surely the time has come for this outdated trading
platform to be scrapped or a way of migrating locked funds introduced?

Microsoft funds not appearing on Xbox 360 after changing region

Xbox funds are region. Specific

So if you bought a non us funds like UK it won't work on a USA account

Also if you aren't physically in a xbox live region you cannot get halo3 as it's region locked

This has happened to me before. Make sure that you have the funds. If you do; Microsoft may have locked the credit card on your account. just talk to customer support or call 1-800-4MY-XBOX tommarrow.

 

If you are in the U.K. & all your account regions match,billing/account & actual location,then your account funds should be in £'s

If you bought a "funds" card online sounds like you got for the wrong region,Euro's instead of pounds,which is down to you,not Microsoft.

 

I appreciate that this is MS trading terms and although I may have unintentionally bought a card for the 'wrong region' I feel this practice is ridiculous. You can buy digital products from most other European retailers (music etc.) without such restrictions,
as mentioned the EU is actually now trying to get this passed as law which would prevent MS from trading in this way in our territory. For there not to be a anyway of migrating these funds I feel is unfair.
