Lock output resolution to 1080p30 or 1080i60

Hi all - I have a home theatre set up with a projector and surround sound system. Currently I can't drive it harder than 1080p30 or 1080i60 (it's the quality of the long HDMI cable in the wall, so there's not a lot I can do about it).

My question is, can I lock the output of the Xbox one at these resolutions?

American Xbox 360 in Australia??

If the game is region free, it'll work on the 360.



If the display device supports US HDTV standards, it'll work with the 360. Look for 720p60 or 1080p30/1080p60 support on the TV you plan to use.



PAL/NTSC shouldn't be an issue. The 360's HANA chip will convert anything to a US HDTV standard output.

 

1440x900 on Xbox One S

480p = 640x480

720p/i = 1280x720

900p = 1440x900

1080p/i = 1920x1080

900p TVs are a bit of an unusual bunch.

Your Xbox One will output at either 720p or 1080p, depending on your Xbox settings. It does not support output at 900p. The TV should upscale 720p (Xbox output) to 900p (TV resolution), or downscale from 1080p (Xbox output).

As 900p is a resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio, you will either see black bars or a stretched screen on your 900p TV, since 720/1080 resolutions are 16:9 (standard ratio for HDTV).

 

Xbox One does not support 1080i.

When it comes to changing resolutions, you got these two choices: 720p or 1080p, the framerate for the most part will vary depending on a movie or a game.

I am pretty sure that there are no Xbox One games that have 720p resolution (720p is Xbox 360 resolution), so go with 1080p on the options of your projector

I believe also that it is advised not to use a projecter for the gaming consoles.

I am not that familiar with tech stuff, but I don't see why it would make a difference if a game console displays on a TV or from a projector.

Most games on xbox one are 720p or 900p Lei Fang - only a handful have reached '1080p'

Genchy, there are a few other 720p games on Xbox One:

-COD Ghosts

-Battlefield 4

-Battlefield Hardline

-MGS Ground Zeroes

-Dead Rising 3

Lei Fang, ESRAM is the reason why Xbox One is harder to hit 1080p than the PS4.
