Lock off region.

I’d say it’s more of an issue with Iceland and not MS. They may have some sort of rules or laws etc that are preventing XBL there. I’m sure MS would like their services in as many places as possible.

You can play games from anywhere though if they are on disc.

the region lock was because of the poor internet or local laws in those areas. But now no check in no region lock.

now to your actual issue



using a VPN once to bypass the region lock will force the region lock error not to show up

however in the final download check you will fail and corrupt

due to region lock violation



no matter if the VPN is off or not you have a US account with US content while in CANADA



which still means a region lock violation



having the vpn off will only mean that NEW REGION locked purchases will display the error

this is why you are supposed to refer to the offical articles on region locks





the only way to fix that is to create an canadian account and purchase the correct regional content or use the migration tool although technically you forfeit access to region locked content but i never used the tool but that is the standard warning

mw2 shouldn't be region locked but then you can do the majority of your errors seem to occur because of the region lock violation on your part





many treyarch games halo mw 3 gears of war many FPS games are region locked and no there is no master list just the MOST commonly accessed regionally locked content

world at war and blackops are the most common to show up along with many activision game

im not sure how you got past the blackops 2 regional filter maybe it was luck who knows

take up that issue with your friendly VPN provider

Buddy there are tons of us Brits playing this game.



The region lock currently helps them keep their servers working smoothly.



There's talk of this being lifted once they've ironed out the creases.



Don't let the region lock put you off.
