    Locate installed games?

    Hi,

First of all, my family shares a single PC. I have setup a "Family" so my two kids have their own account on the PC. They have their own Microsoft accounts, etc.

I recently subscribed to the PC version of the Gamepass. I was interested to play Forza H4, so I installed it and played (on my account of course). My kids want to play too, so I started setting up their stuff. Got 3 surprises along the way:

1- I need to install XBox (Beta) on each of their Win10 account... So 3 installations of the same application. It's small, so no worries, but still...

2- I cannot share my Gamepass subscription with them. I can live with that, but I was expecting to have the same experience as on the XBox One (where the master account can share with other accounts on the same XBox)

3- I need to install 3 times Forza H4 !?!?!? So far, I haven't been able to "locate" my installed Forza H4 so I can add the game to their library. Is there a way to do this? I sincerely hope so.

    Anybody can help?

    Regards

    :)

    Locate installed games?

    Hi DWT_22,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums.

I believe the reason that you had to install the app 3 times and the game 3 times is because on Windows 10, each Microsoft account that logs into Windows becomes a user with their own set of personal files for profile data and download including apps and
games. I think in the past some Windows games had one location for save files but now each user has their own set of personal files. If you open File Explorer and open your main drive (usually C:) there should be file paths for each user that has an account
    on that Windows 10 PC.

You can accomplish sharing of one game on that same PC across multiple Microsoft accounts/Xbox Live profiles by setting up Offline permissions on that PC so that the main account that owns the Game Pass subscription can download the game once to your account
while logged into Windows, launch the game at least once, and then your kids can just log into their accounts through the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store. The game should login and save progress based on whoever is logged into the Xbox app and the Store.
By setting offline permissions on that PC, you can play games on that PC without needing to be singed into the account that owns the games or subscription. Basically, they shouldn't have to login to Windows at all, just the Xbox Live services with their own
accounts through the Xbox app and Microsoft Store. The Store should still show your PC's installed games and apps depending on what user is logged into Windows, but you are able to freely change account's in the Store and still play installed games with another
account if you have offline permissions set up.

    1. Launch the Microsoft store app and sign-in with the account who owns and wants to share the entitlement.
    2. At the upper right corner of the screen click the ellipses button (…) and select
      Settings
    3. Scroll to Offline Permissions and toggle it to
      ON

Additional information can be found here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/gaming-on-windows/play-games-offline-windows-10

If you are talking about the location of the files for FH4 to just move it to the other users' folder, I don't believe you are able to do that. In any case, the quickest way to locate the installed game is:

    Run the game

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

Locate the game process in the list of processes

Right click the process and choose 'Open File Location' (Usually follows C:\Program Files\Windows Apps\)

    I hope this helps!

    Locate installed games?

    Hi !

thanks for the reply. Yes, I figured out that I would try that (fortunately for me, my Offline Permission was already ON so it worked when I tried it over the weekend) and my kid was able to play on his account. But the first time I tried, he couldn't launch
the game because he didn't have a subscription (or maybe I didn't started the game at least once?). So I bought him a one month subscription (1$).

Will see if he can play after that month.

    Thanks!

    Locate games already installed

I have 500mb that doesn't mean I should have to redownload a game when I already have it. Origin, Steam Uplay, Battlenet Epic Games Store, etc don't do it. The store is really bad in comparison to the rest of the ones I named. Also what if you want to upgrade your drive or you main drive fails how backwards is the way they're doing it
