Local remote play to pc on series x now uses cloud :/

am i missing something ???

Xbox one with pc companion app allowed local play over your own LAN connection allowing you to tweak bitrate to get nice crisp clean image, and yes i was getting a very nice looking image

just brought a series X shocked to discover companion app no longer supported on it, i have to use cloud !!!! , which results in very poor image quality as its using upload bandwidth, which unfortunately isn't best here

why oh why would MS want server load with people playing locally ?????

Hello Mikeukh, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your streaming.

I was also upset that the companion app no longer worked for the Series X/S consoles. However, I have done some research and there's an app called The Xbox Game Streaming (Test App). I have installed and tried this app and it works great. I see, probably in order to fix the issue you may need to download locally the game on Xbox Series X/S or PC

Because right now is not possible to do more than play a game with cloud gaming

I just tried the xcloud service directly from my series s and it worked absolutely flawless.

Now I am even more confused than before.

Why can I play cloud games directly from my Xbox in an astounding quality but it is not possible to remote play from Xbox to pc/ipad.

But what confuses me even more is that it works perfectly with ps remote play.

Just tested steam remote play from the PC to the iPad and that also worked wonderfully.

Maybe it's an general problem with the series s/x consoles?

Supported device Xbox One S/X for remote play on PC.

Series X/S not available in Beta app.

Xbox Series X and S are out of luck for now.

Yes remote play is possible on steam but on PC

There Is a difference

Cloud play is only a subscriber option

Meaning you cannot be signed into 2 consoles at a time this includes cloud

You would have to sign out of the series x and play cloud play only on the xbox one x.

Home console doesn't apply ro cloud play since sub accounts can't roam

Quick resume isn't a function of the xbox ones it's a next gen feature only steam deck or.any other portable console xbox series and ps5 all support it
