    Local multiplayer not working with second controller


    Hello everyone,

    I've just purchased The Adventure Pals for my Xbox One, which is pretty awesome!

    The only problem is that I can't get the local multiplayer to work. I've started the game and have turned the second controller on. The controller seems to be detected/ recognised by the game as the second player appears as option in the top right corner
    of the screen with a message to 'Press A'. When I press A, nothing happens. I've put fresh batteries in the controller and the controller is functioning properly because I'm able to turn it on and off.

    I've love to hear from anyone with some ideas on this.

    Are you about local multiplayer?

    Just sign in second account on your console and connect second controller. Go to multiplayer in game and start co-op game.

    I have the same problem! Bought the "full" game to play with my son, but second controller is completely unresponsive, as you described.

    Are you about local multiplayer?

    Just sign in second account on your console and connect second controller. Go to multiplayer in game and start co-op game.

    My kids just updated to the latest, and now they cannot play multiplayer. When the second controller tries to hit the start button to join the game locally, nothing happens. The worlds are still available, but multiplayer doesn't work. We've tried on a new
    world as well, but multiplayer just doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem with this update?

    Thanks John, very helpful. I had the privacy settings set as you recommended. I got multiplayer local to work by connecting the second controller which gave the option to add another user with a Microsoft account or add a guest. Thanks for confirming that I would need a subscription to allow multiplayer online to work. We’re good for now!

    Cannot get second player on two player game?

    Thank you for confirming. Just a friendly reminder though that cloud gaming does not support local multiplayer which means that you will not be able to use a second controller for a second player if you're using cloud gaming.

    The local multiplayer on UNO is 2v2 against the AI. You wouldnt be able to face off against eachother since you will be able to see each others hands. From what I've read online, a second controller needs to be signed into an Xbox Live account before the
    game is started in order to play the local multiplayer.
