    Hello, i have been playing Halo with my friends since (I think) 2004. We play only multiplayer (against each other) on a split screen, 4 persons. We went to the store today to purchase Xbox One + controllers + Halo 5 or Halo Wars 2 only to find out we cannot
    play multiplayer (not live) mode on a split screen on none of the two newer Halo games. Is that true? Will there be a fix to that for us traditionals? Thanks ..

    Can I play Rayman Origins on Xbox live?

    The game supports Local Co-Op for 4 Players only, not online Co-op. Which means that two to four players can play the entire campaign via local co-op only.

    Local co-op

    Halo 5 unfortunately does not support split screen mode. You can however play CO-OP (live).

    Do you now have to have an Xbox Gold account to play multiplayer in Halo 5???

    This is BS. Why do I need an Xbox live account and pay for a subscription when I already bought the dang game??? So, now I can't have a friend play with me even when I have a console, the game, and two controllers???

    Local co-op

    Unfortunately, that's the case. I would advise, you check the features of the game before buying it in future.

    On a side note, all future Halo FPS titles will have split screen as confirmed by 343 Industries executive Bonnie Ross during a speech at DICE 2017 so you could look forward to that!

    Halo 5 doesn't support splitscreen play but The Master Chief Collection does so will every upcoming Halo like Halo 6 will support it.

    It was strange that 343 felt they should change the local multiplayer for Halo 5. Although it has faced a lot of criticism I don't see them changing it for future releases. But it has not been confirmed

    I wish more games would embrace local multiplayer. Even Overwatch doesn't have it

    I guess this is 1 area CoD excels in

    Actually it is officially confirmed that all future FPS titles WILL have splitscreen.

    343 Industries head Bonnie Ross said at DICE Summit in Las Vegas that Halo FPS games will “always have split-screen going forward,” calling the removal of the feature — and the ensuing fan outcry — a painful learning lesson for the studio.

    Hi there,

    If you're trying to play the games co-op, not all games have local co-op ability, sometimes referred to as couch co-op. Forza, while it has online co-op, it does not have local co-op.

    There are sites out there that will discuss which games have co-op ability. If you want to play them split screen on the same console, look for games that say they support local co-op.

    Sounds to me like no local co op which means no deal for me. Fable has had local co op since Fable 2 and the premise of Legends seems like such a great idea to have that local co op.

    I would say Realm Royale it's not a local co-op but its fun to play. Astroneer has co-op online it's in Game Pass. There's Riverbond it has local live co-op.
