Local Co-op - multiplayer games for kids

I'm confused!! Xbox has safety protocols for kids which is great. But, our problem is they want to play with us, and most games they want to play are not local co-op!! You have to have xbox live, which pretty much throws many safety protocols out the window!!,
and /or you have to play from a separate console or PC!

Wii, Playstation are so much better so kids can actually play together. In addition, when looking for games on the console there is no area that says if it is multiplayer, local co-op, etc.. you have to search online and try and figure it out!

The developer's are making these for adults like themselves and not thinking about kids besides the safety protocols. Add games they can play with parents as multiplayer and local. Don't force parents to add live and then expose them to unsafe areas.

As a parent I can understand,there are protocols for the xbox to prevent unwanted content I have you ed them with my kids since the 360 and they rolled over to the new xbox generation without me having to do anything but double check and confirm. Try going

You can fond out if a game supports local co-op by checking in the game's description in the store before purchasing. It would be listed under Capabilities.

Unfortunately, as you stated, it is ultimately up to the developers to create that function within the games themselves.

The Lego series is highly recommended. I still jump on it when my nephews come over. A Great time waster and i can still enjoy myself playing with them

Is not true. In the store there are filters to find each type of game. In addition this information is displayed in the details of each game in the store.
