Loading time of Destiny

Read that Destiny was chosen as the best game.

Went out to buy it.

I am waiting over 90 minutes while the game is installing itself - annoying, disgrace.

What a waste of time - hope it will be worth it!

In Destiny, there is absolutely no loading time once you are planet side, which is amazing given the size of the play area that each planet has.

The only downside is the loading screen in Orbit, the unskippable cut scenes, and the occassional " stuck in position loading session " caused by random server issues.

Destiny expansion 1 won't download!

i have been trying to download expansion 1 for destiny but it just stays at 0% for a long period of time then say can't download expansion 1, I think it's the DLC itself that is broken as my friend is having the same problem when they licrence transferred
from another person with it, is there any solution that doesn't include redone loading the entire profile or uninstalling then reinstalling destiny??? I have already tried downloading it multiple times and deleting my cache then redone loading, but it still
isn't working???

 

Anytime you buy a physical game always install it offline. It will download quicker because it won't be trying to pull an update at the same time.

 

You wasted your money dude. That game was complete overhyped garbage.

 

"Destiny" was amazing at launch and continues to be amazing.

Show me someone who doesn't like "Destiny" and I'll show you someone who knows what they don't like.

Show me someone who says "Destiny" is garbage, or a bad game, and I'll show you someone who's out of touch with modern gaming and qualify that statement with all the awards the game has won and the 3 million people who are still playing it to death because
it's that great.

On your first play through I'd recommend just focussing on the story and avoiding the temptation to sit there in Party Chat because it's not like "Skyrim" where they spoon feed you absolutely everything to do with story. You pick it up as you go along,
sometimes through multiple playthroughs.

It could of been amazing if Activision and Bungie didn't butcher the story up into little pieces for DLC. Otherwise it's an alright game and worth a play.

 

I found it to be an average shooter. Played through story mode and did pvp for a few weeks but interest quickly parted. As for story, well Skyrim may have been spoon fed but it was a great story.. I also thought the voice was well done in that game too.
Which was quite the opposite I thought in Destiny. "Look. A wizard." Absolutely riveting....

 

Destiny probably has the best mechanics of any FPS I've ever played. Besodes the mechanics it is lacking in every other aspect.

As far as that Bafta award Az keeps harping on, the BAFTA judges must not have played Dragon Age, Shadow of Mordor or Wolfenstein last year.

 

I enjoy Destiny. It's not game of the year material but the mechanics are great and I like the strike missions. The story was weak and the PvP is average in my opinion. But it's not a bad game. It's worth a play through at this point especially if it's on
sale somewhere.

 

Sorry buddy but not only did the judges play these games, some of them were even up for the same award.

They just weren't as good as "Destiny" according to the judges.

I'd have to agree because I've played all the games you've mentioned and none of them are as good as "Destiny" either.

Some of them are pretty good games though.

 

Destiny was way over-hyped, for what story there is, it's very underwhelming, doing the same missions hundreds of times with no variation in enemy spawns got old fast for me, little variation in weapon/armor stats, so most people are grinding raids to get
the same equipment, do you love lore? well then! get ready to play the game to unlock Grimoire cards that you can go to the website and read more about, instead of putting it in the game, or incorporating into the story line. overpriced DLC that doesn't offer
a lot of return.

there are a lot of people that love this game, few on my friends love it just because it is a Bungie game(and Bungie deserves praise even when they over sale and under deliver), but there are lots of people that got tired of this game in a very short amount
of time. Destiny is the first game i've regretted buying in a long time.

as others have said, gameplay is good, everything else is average or lower. rental at best IMO.... what were we talking about again? oh, yes disconnect the X1 from the internet to install the game faster, but i'd suggest that in the future to start installing
the game and walk away and do something else, some online games will require you update before you can play the game anyways, and there have been several games with massive day one patches because the games are basically broken, welcome to Next-Gen! at least
you'll be able to play another game while it's installing, Rayman Legends is free right now and a really good time killer.

Talking of deals for Destiny.

I know it won't help everyone but here in the UK it has been posted on Post A Bargain that some Sainsbury's Stores are selling it for £19.99 when you spend £40 or more in-store. Could be of use to some if your out doing some weekly shopping

At that price I'd recommend it to people.
