    It only happens when I'm using a disc. I checked for loose parts but nothing. It's in a wide area, no dust, green light on power adapter and I've taken good care of it. It's only a year old. 360 250gb Slim.

    Also the disc feels very hot after I take it out. I've been downloading games to bypass this issue but I am running out of space.

    Yep. Mine stays white and it actually makes this humming noise as if it is still on.

    Xbox power supply humming

    Hey there Assassin! What exactly do you mean by humming? There is a fan built in to the power supply that is supposed to make a little noise while it's running. If this noise is excessively load or irregular, I would suggest seeking a replacement on our
    repair site (support.xbox.com/.../repair-process). Let me know, thanks!

    Loud noise when game is inserted, silent when DVD is inserted.

    It is a similar sound to that of the fans in a computer. Not a grinding noise at all, I would say its a mix of humming and buzzing, but more hum.

    Power supply Problem

    Hello

    Your power supply should not be making any noise at all!! So if it is I strongly recommend contacting technical support.

    Also the loudest noise your Xbox should make is when the disc spins round to load a game, other than that it should have a low unnoticeable hum to it.

    Hey there!

    Yes it is normal for some games to make a "humming" noise. You can always Install the game to your hard drive, witch can make it spin less, resulting in it being quieter! It also reduces loading times! If you see any damage on your Disc, you could take it
    back too. The humming is not a result of your xbox though. Good Luck!
