live.xbox.com is not trusted connection (possible hack?)

Hi

I have tried connecting to live.xbox.com on firefox v32.0.3 on windows 7 and when I connect to the webpage to sign in it firefox says:

"This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to live.xbox.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

live.xbox.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"

also on the forums here no gamerbox shows, they all say oops that should not have happened.

(there is not really a good place to post this but here)

um I hope that helps? (also I am not going to try internet explorer due to my version not being able to show a secure page v11)

it normaly works with out having to allow an website it was working and then two days ago it starts doing it again (also I am using a mac and it works--but my windows 7 pc is still showing that.)

and two my IE 11 on my pc can not show images or show any content of secure pages since the upgrade to 11. (I like 10 better)

Sometimes your internet browser will act up and block you from going on potentially malicious or fraud websites to prevent phishing/Information stealing. Using a different browser is a quick fix. If you want to stay with the browser you already have, try...

• Go into the browsers Settings, click the Security tab, and then click Exceptions...
  

This should work also, after clicking Exceptions, you can add live.xbox.com and make it a
"Allowed Website". This should fix your problem overall.

Hi, usually this is just a glitch. Sometimes it's the browser, sometimes its the SSL Certificate.

Try another browser, or try clearing the cache of your browser (and clear the cookies too), then revisit the webpage.

There's no reason to worry, the website is secure, but make sure the sign-in page is secure too, that's the most important page to have security on.

well this was going on for like 2 days on different browsing history. (I'm in private browsing on firefox) it is working now. sorry just freaked me out lol

 

Hi, um now nothing will load (been happening for about 3 days now) some times after you sign in the screen is just white, if you go to messages or friends it says :

same with friends and some times with the home page

Thanks for posting back, Ritzy. Yesterday we had a service alert about the friends lists and messaging. It was causing that error to pop up when you went to view your friends or messaging on the website. It should be resolved now. We are still working on
the errors when signing in. It is intermittent and shouldn't be affecting too much. Thank you for letting me know about the issues you're experiencing!

 

I had the same issue last night, same error code upon logging in.

Funny enough I'm using the same browser etc..

The issue is no longer occurring but does anything need to be done? (Password change etc?)
