Live TV with analog to digital converter

Hey team,



I'm trying to do something I know I probably should not be doing, but bare with me for a minute. I've got an SD DTA cable box, that only supports coaxial out. I cannot change this, it comes with my apartment. I'm currently running
the following setup.



Xfinity comcast SD DTA box (coax) ==> VCR (RCA) ==> Analog to HD converter/scaler ==> Hdmi (720p @60 hertz) ==> Xbox one.

When I plug the hdmi into my TV whala! Picture and sound. When I plug into the x1 I get "detection" but black screen and no sound.

Things I've already done:

Power cycled everything multiple times with hard resets

Enabled power saving mode

Used multiple hdmi cables

Adjusted every setting I could think of.

Things I already know:

My video quality will not be as good- I don't care I just want to watch my TV through my xbox

My set top box is compatible and does work with the x1 Rf blaster and one guide , fully tested.

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated. The way I see it is if I can get output through my TV hdmi it must be possible to get it out of the Xbox.

So how are we meant to use speakers with the Xbox One?

My T.V only has digital audio output and my surround sound only has analog intput so i bought a digital to analog audio converter, so i have my xbox connected to my tv via HDMI then the digital audio out from the tv to the converter, then finally from the
converter to my surround sound via a L/R AUX cable. That's how i get sound from the xbox to speakers.

 

How am I going to connect my Xbox One to Logitech Z523 2.1 Speakers?

Get a digital to analog converter. Fiio makes some either amplified(for headphone use) or unamplified(external amp, probably what your speakers are. Something like this

Going by the last survey Microsoft did I think they are planning to release a converter.

 

I would hope so, I was kind of blown away by the lack of support. I picked up the x1 because I appreciate the amount of effort Microsoft puts in to non game apps. But the x1 lacked some things I simply expected to get for that price tag.

Based on specs along my setup should be working, I think that's the most frustrating part.

Don't get me wrong, I really really wanted Titan fall too ;-)

 

Any thoughts Microsoft? I assume this is a software issue since the video feed is fine on my TV, any chance you're going to patch this in the near future?
