Live TV with a Satellite Dish?

Hi guys,

My building is equipped with a central satellite system that I use with a Humax HD receiver. Can I get this to work somehow? The XB1 apparently only recognizes cable providers but are there any steps that I can hook my sat system receiver and OneGuide would
recognize the channels? Any help appreciated.

Problem with live TV connection

Hi, I'm having problems with the connections for live tv. We have satellite tv but the satellite receiver is in the TV itself (Samsung) and not a separate box. We have 2 HDMI cables but there is no HDMI out port on the TV to connect the satellite connection
to the HDMI in port on the xbox one. Can this problem be fixed somehow? The satellite cable itself is not a HDMI cable but a round one that fits into the satellite port on the tv.

Unfortunately there is no way to connect the internal Receiver of the TV to the Xbox One for TV functions,

The HDMI IN on the Xbox One is designed to work with Satellite or Cable TV which involves having a separate box that normally connects to the TV with an HDMI cable.

Hi nointerface - yes, this should be able to work fine.

Who is your provider? (for the satellite) Have you tried entering that in?

Thank you for the reply. Hmm.. it's not a provider, its free to air satellite dish for SD channels only. (HD works with a smartcard) but there is no specific provider. My Humax receiver (HDIR3000) has it's own Channel Guide and I was wondering if Xbox1 can
render that to it's OneGuide.

I am in Dubai, UAE. Any instructions on how I can set this up so I can have OneGuide?

If I have a standard dish satellite box with no HDMI port, is it a way I can still watch tv through my Xbox one?

So, if I was to connect an aerial to the TV tuner, or a cable from my satellite dish, I would still receive the same free-to-air channels?

Yeah it was a receiver, I couldn't remember the name at the time. So then, I would need to buy a satellite decoder for the xbox One? Sorry, I'm not to familiar with the whole system too much. I mean I understand the whole dish to receiver with the card inserted
into the receiver, but as for other receivers off one dish and all its confusing... So that means I would still need to "split the signal" or get another dish even if I used the xbox with the satellite tv if I wanted to watch something different?
