Live TV w/ USB tuner + Pause live TV option on has stutters

i have a :

Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox One TV Tuners and Video Capture 1578

When i have the "Pause Live TV" option turned on my live tv, never pause, will start to stutter and pixelate. If I turn the Pause option off the issues stop.

I have done all the restart, power cycle and other usual support efforts.

What gives?

Cannot pause or rewind live TV since system update.

I use the xbox one TV tuner and have always been able to pause or rewind live TV.

Since the new UI those buttons do nothing on the remote control, and it won't work using the control pad either.

Even using the Xbox Pause command does nothing.

The only option I now get is to turn the subtitles on and off.

Any ideas?

I see your post is a few days old now so you've probably already found what you were looking for.

Just in case you haven't, the setting is located here....

Settings / TV & OneGuide / Device Control / TV Tuner Settings / Live Pause / On or Off

The issue started Monday, Aug 8.

I reset OneGuide on night of 8/11 and turned pause live tv option back on.

I will report back if the problem resurfaces.

3 hours of viewing after the reset it was operating fine so far

Enen, that's not a rumour, the Xbox One digital TV tuner is coming out in October and will cost 25 quid. It basically allows you to watch Freeview on the console, pause Live TV, use voice commands to change channels, works with DVB, DVB-2 and a 3rd one which
is DVB-C..? Anyways, you get your aerial lead and plug it into the tuner and then plug the USB bit into the Xbox One's many USB ports to be able to use the OneGuide. Should be able to use the Smartglass as an Xbox One media remote too.

The TV tuner is an alternative to a set top box which won't require you to use the HDMI in port.

I can't answer the UK Freeview bit, here is what I know about the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox:

It can be used to view compatible OTA TV stations,
The OneGuide app can be used to view the Digital TV Tuner stations,
IIRC there is a pause live TV function however it may be restricted to a maximum of 30 minutes,
Microsoft was working on an update to enable longer PVR functionality but that was put on hold some months ago, I don't know if they plan to restart that.

That last point disappointed me when it was announced as I specifically bought the Hauppauge Digital TV Tuner for Xbox when I read that they were working on the PVR feature.

The pause live TV function is nice though if you just need a short bathroom break.
