Thanks for the reply, but none of these are the issue (and I've tested in a multitude of circumstances). Since this is dealing with the "xbox on" command, the TV speakers are *not* on. Also, when the system is on, it recognizes my voice commands just fine
from the same location (now the TV speakers are on).

This seems very clearly to be a software issue as the voice commands work decently when the xbox is on.

Thanks all! Using voice commands is great and i will try this. I'm surprised that there is no way adjust the volume using the remote. Scenario being, if go from game (cranked up 7.1) to TV i want to turn it down, but the TV is too loud for voice commands.

i was reading your forum and I was doing some research and found the following

support.xbox.com/.../watch-tv-with-oneguide at the bottom it clearly states that Voice command availability differs by region. so then hopefully the link will answer some of your questions regarding the language commands.

Voice commands complete my life, controlling my TV and receiver.
