    Live TV Sound and Picture issues since new XBOX One Experience Dashboard

    Hi all,

    I'm hoping someone can help. It seems (although could be co-incidence) that I've been having problems with LIVE TV picture and sound problems since the update to the new dashboard. I am having the following issues:

    1) Picture Stutters and complete loss of sound - So far, I have only managed to fix this by doing a hard reset on the console;

    2) Loss of sound - I have manage to resolve this by changing audio format from Bitstream Out to Uncompressed 7.1, Quitting the OneGuide app, and turning the sky box off and then back on again. Note: This was all done at same time.

    I have the following Setup:

    SKY+ HD Box going straight into Xbox;

    Xbox One going into Onkyo amp;

    Onkyo amp going into TV.

    I have tried the following to fix it:

    Change HMDI cables;

    Playing straight through Amp when there's an issue (Note: THis resolves problem, which means it's only through xbox);

    Soft/Hard Resets;

    Display setting reset;

    Restore Factory Settings.

    Xbox One Support have now asked me to do an offline update via USB (Need to get hold of a USB stick that I can format first). However, call me sceptical, but I'm not entirely convinced that this will work. I've therefore asked about other options and have
    been told that it will be a £90 charge. My worry is I pay this £90 and it still doesn't get fixed. What wasn't made clear was whether or not I'd get the £90 back. Does anyone know the answer to this?

    I'd really appreciate it if anyone had any other thoughts on fixing the issue though, or if someone had experienced it themselves.

    Many thanks all. Have a good xmas/new year.

    Paul

    :)

  2. TV/One Guide Surround with XBox One TV tuner

    Ever since the New Experience update, I have not been able to hear live TV in surround sound. Netflix and games all come in surround sound fine. I have changed the settings in both the general audio settings and TV/One Guide settings to surround sound. I
    have toggled them and rebooted and unplugged cables and plugged back in. I have checked and double checked setting on my receiver. This seems to have started with the New Experience update. Please fix.

    Xbox One issues after 07.02.16 update

    My Xbox one is no longer playing sound from Blue-Rays. It plays TV sound and will continue to play TV sound while Blue-Ray picture is running. This is since the latest update. I tried turning off the TV source then I have no sound. I restarted Xbox one twice
    but no help.

    This is NOT you and NOT an isolated issue. Xbox/Microsoft should be well aware of this issue as it has been reported dozens and dozens of times on their forums and they initially acknowledged this as a problem with the new UI. I'm convinced that it is
    a UK/pal only issue. If this occured in the US (their main market) they would have had 10 times the number of complaints. For me, regardless of the tickable options (was one, is now two) for 50hz, the TV issue relates to our tv ouput switching to 60hz.

    It's pretty pathetic that it's still in such a state so long after the update, especially given how long it took Xbox and Microsoft to correct this design flaw via updates to the old UI.

    Thanks for this. This is my latest response from Microsoft after I proved the issue happened with another Xbox.

    "I have researched and I agree with you on the fact that it is from the Windows 10 update for the Xbox One, being a new software platform that allows now also some Xbox 360 games to work, it seems like it is no longer compatible with the set up that you
    have amp + tv box.

    As you have determined yourself, a different Xbox is doing the same thing. I apreciate that you have tried that, as now we know for sure that the console is fine.

    I do am sorry for your time loss, however the guys from Sky will need to release a firmware update for their device, to be up to date and compatible once more with the console."

    I personally don't think it's right that they have passed the blame onto sky. This, in my opinion, is not a good way to keep the biggest broadcasting company on side. Something, I would have thought Microsoft would deem very important given the Xbox one
    is meant to be a "media centre". I have not rang sky yet as I feel embarrassed to ask them, and was waiting for a response on this.

    It's becoming really irritating now and so glad I've not listened to Xbox support on this as they have constantly asked me for money to repair which would have been completely wasted.

    Im having a similar issue, funnily enough I also have a similar setup.

    Basically the sound lags behind the picture when watching TV, annoying thing is its not always there, and it usually corrects itself after fifteen or twenty minutes, but then shortly begins to lag behind the picture again.

    When I say lags behind picture I mean splits seconds, its like watching a foreign film with someone doing an English dub.

    I basically worked out its the Xbox, I swapped HDMI cables, changed settings etc but eventually plugged my Sky HD box directly into my TV, and low and behold the problem disappeared.

    The annoying thing is I really like the TV feature on the Xbox One, but for the time being (until Microsoft can fix it) its not being used.

    Forgot to mention that this problem has also been discussed on the forums, and again it seems localised to the UK, so it could be a 50hz/60hz thing.

    had this, mainly sky issue, some channels on sky i have to keep tweaking the delay on the sky box to get it right, itv and channel 5 are the worst culprits for audio lag and sync issues.

    I tried tweaking the delay settings on the Sky box, but when the sound was already delayed, delaying it even further just made it worse.
