Live TV on xbox one without internet?

Does the xbox one require an internet connection for viewing live ota tv? I will not have a broadband connection when I move, so I am wondering if I can still use the xbox for viewing ota tv or if I will have to revert back to the old way of plugging the
antenna directly into the tv...

Can you watch live tv with the xbox off?

Hi buddy you have to have the xbox one on to watch live tv through the hdmi pass through

On your xbox one.

So to answer your question no it isnt possible to use the hdmi pass through to watch live tv without your xbox one power on

They make 2 OTA tuners. Depending on your location will determine if 1 of the 2 will work.

Go to the Microsoft store and search for it "OTA tuner" and you should be able to find one.

There is a U.S. and Canada version.

heymoe99 is correct; however, I believe you would still need an internet connection to download the oneguide channel list.

Thanks munkyxtc, I didn't even think about that. I don't know if the OneGuide is able to pull any information from the OTA signal.

According to the
requirements for use of the OneGuide a connection to Xbox live is required which in turn requires an internet connection.

Thus you would not be able to use this feature properly without a connection.
