Live TV not working with HDMI in

Hi I am trying to use a composite to hdmi converter to watch live tv on my xbox one. I am getting neither picture nor sound. The same setup works if I plug in the hdmi directly into the tv. Is this a general bug or could my specific unit be at fault? I have
had success inputting hdmi input from a roku and xbox 360.

HDMI stopped working on tv - fine on pc monitor

Hi guys,

Really weird problem. My xbox has stopped working with my TV via the HDMI cable. It works on the tv with the component, and works with my pc monitor via the hdmi, but a combination of hdmi and tv doesn't work. I have tried a different hdmi cable, and different
hdmi slots on the tv. No luck. It was working fine a couple of weeks ago and just decided to stop working last week.

Any help would be much appreciated.

HDMI mode not supported

If the Xbox is working with the same HDMI cable on a different TV, then that would lead me to believe the HDMI port on the TV in question is bad. I had a bad HDMI port on my TV as well that just went out one day. If it works on another TV with the same
HDMI cable then I would say the Port on the TV has quit working.

I am having somewhat the same problem. I have a 60" older Mitsubishi HD1080 tv. My hd connection is component. I have a generic component to hdmi converter cable but it will not work. What do I need to buy to fix this without having to buy a new television?

@Tiger storm, I don't think those HDMI to composite cables are legitimate. One is a digital signal, and the other is analog. You need to have a digital to analog converter box in between.

Hey , I just got a converter to hook up my rca to hdmi in, just a black screen, any ideas

Unfortunately there is no way to connect the internal Receiver of the TV to the Xbox One for TV functions,

The HDMI IN on the Xbox One is designed to work with Satellite or Cable TV which involves having a separate box that normally connects to the TV with an HDMI cable.

I stated that I used other HDMI Cables and another Tv. My xbox worked on the second tv with the same cable, and my laptop worked with the same HDMI cable on my Tv in the same HDMI Port. The Xbox, Tv, and HDMI cable work fine, they just won't work together
right now for some reason.
