Live TV does not work when plugged into capture card

I bet it's due to your capture card not passing through HDCP. The cable box only shows TV if it can get verification from the entire HDMI chain that HDCP is turned on.

Only one connection can work at a time. That why that when you used a capturing devices. You first connected to capture devices. And then connect it to your TV. That if a console. PC you need put a out put card in thee back of PC and then then connected
to capture device. But also you can make it built in the PC. if you make it yourself. But connecting a console more then one console does not work. In the PC world it does. But you need more out puts on the tower of the PC to work. But no console does not
support this. And one time PS3 was going to do this. But it was cut off the feature list. In order to have it more the one displayed. You need more console. More copy's of the game. And more XBOX LIVE profile's. And more copy's of the DLC if it need DLC to
do it. but a one console using two TV's does not work at all. if you have a 1080p TV. I take HDMI over the AV cable any day.

@eggnogga @silkyjj thats actually what i originally wanted to do. How does a capture card work ? would i need to buy anything else? will i need to hook my X1 to my PC?

With a capture card will i be able to stream live to twitch? if so i would buy a capture card today ! please give me more details on how this works.. instructions. & what capture card you recommend

Thanks for the input guys, I eventually figured it out but had to use a workaround.

Even breaking the flap off on the composite cable still for some reason continued to block the HDMI port.

I decided to use my capture card and plug in the Component cables to the video portion of the capture card, and the AV cables to my surround sound, then using the capture card as a pass through, I plugged an HDMI cable to the HDMI out on the capture card
to the TV.

It works fine now. Only thing now is that scrolling through menus on Xbox sometimes has a "tinny" sound to it in the surround sound speakers, that doesnt happen on my PS3 on the same surround sound system. But oh well, I'll figure it out hopefully.

When you have two cables plugged into the Xbox 360. It confuses it because it doesn't know what to do. Its like when you plug an Earthnet cable into your Xbox when you have the adapter plugged in. It doesn't work because its confused.

Now I'm not too sure with capture cards, but I do bellive it needs to be plugged into your TV. I might be wrong but try it and see what happens
