Live TV broke after update

As soon as I finished the latest update 2/15/14 the live TV option is no longer working. I am either getting a blank screen or 1 frame every couple min. Everything was working great up to minutes before the update. I have tried doing a full power cycle
on both the cable box and xbox one multiple times, I have tried using different HDMI cables, the cable box is working when plugged directly into the TV or receiver. The cable box is working when plugged into the xbox I can communicate with it online and from
the other boxes in the house and it will record shows, the XB1 is just not sending the signal through.

Seriously guys. Every single time there is an update live tv quits working properly! Not sure if this is preview or the real update...it updates so damn often. There is now an option under start up to have xbox boot to tv from standby. Not sure what this
means but tv wouldn't even come on until I unplugged EVERYTHING and then restarted...manually started tv back up...and now no sound! Honestly at this point, the control for live tv is the one advantage xbox has over PlayStation. But it's just not worth the
hassle anymore. I'm going to bypass the xbox for tv until there is a time when it will consistently work for more than one day. I just can't understand why the updates always make tv worse. It was by far the most functional straight out of the box. Very dissapointed.

 

Hi there, I have the same problem and I don't think it's being widely reported. I've done all the troubleshooting. And my cable box can definitely communicate with the Xbox One, because it receives the power down test and turns off. I can't see anything
that's going on through the cable box -- black screen as you said. I am TWC and have a Motorola cable box, also (I will have to check the model #). Anyone, help!

 

I am also having issues with losing both tv and kinetic signals, seem I constantly pulling the TV, console cabinet out and disconnecting and reconnecting the cables. At this point, I am disconnection xbox one from cable, to run it separately. It has been
too long to return to Warmart. I will just use the Xbox 360, and forgo the Xbox one attempt to control everything, and I will buy a PS4 to see if its any better, at least I can play my old games with it.

 

Yep, I had the same problem after launch and it seemed to have gone away for a while. Then after this update it came back full force. I tried all the old tricks, but none of them have worked. At this point, it's more of a hassle to try and unplug my Xbox
One cords, then the cable box and then power cycling everything for the "advantage" of voice commands that work at random. My Xbox One will be going from input one to input four. /end rant

 

I am now having the same issues but after the most recent preview update that i received a few days ago. Everything saint said I did as well and in addition called support and tried many random things. I have Att U-Verse with a Cisco box and to watch TV
i have to start the TV app which goes to a standby screen on my cable box. From here it is now frozen, i have to blindly change to a channel and then close and restart the TV app and this usually works........Frustrating to say the least

 

This still has not been fixed and I am done playing with it, thanks Microsoft for jacking this up.

 

I have the same set top box (Motorola VIP1216) through Bell Aliant Fibre Op and I have the same issues. This only happened when I got the preview update, which is the update that just went live over the last day or so. I'm not sure what could be causing
the issue, but something with the Xbox One is conflicting with this specific STB. I'm considering contacting Bell Aliant to see if they have another STB option.

 

I have the same issue. Att uverse giving a blank screen constantly. Going to have to give up on the xbox soon. Very sad.

wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem. Prior to the April update I was getting 5.1 surround through the cable box etc. After the update I'm only getting 2.0 stereo sound. My setup is all through HDMI and is sent through my receiver. When
I plugged the cable box into it's own HDMI port the 5.1 came back. The same problem is happening w/ Netflix but when I play a blu ray on the xbox it works fine.. WTF happened?!?

 

Also, after the update, I can't watch TV anymore because of tiling and loss of signal.. It was fine the day before and is fine now that I have plugged it into it's own HDMI port on my receiver.. REALLY ANNOYED by this!
