Live TV and Media Center

I think it's pretty crappy that Xbox One (a Microsoft product) isn't compatible with Media center. One of the reasons I've always gone with Xbox was for the way it could 'talk' to my Media Center PC. Now I have my PC hooked up via HDMI and have to mess with
my mouse and keyboard to control my live TV. Pretty sucky.. Microsoft.

XBOX 360 Media Remote (new) Controlling Media Center

Hi there. I need help with my XBOX 360 Media Remote. I use it to control my Windows Media Center on the XBOX. It links to my PC and plays TV and Recordings from there. Except when I am in live TV and in the GUIDE section I cannot find the button that will
open up the main Windows Media Center window that lets you toggle between recordings and live tv. IS there any publication of what each button does to control Windows Media Center on the remote.

Or if there is some guide to how the native XBOX controllers work with the Windows Media Center on the XBOX. Please help

Yeah, Media Center has always been that "killer app" that made living room visitors say, "Wow!"

I believe you can search for "Media Center" (or "Media Center PC" or something like that) and add it as a set-top box in the Xbox One devices settings. You'll need to have some way to receive the IR signals from the Kinect blaster. I haven't spent time
to get it completely working yet, but the potential is there. Probably need Media Center running on the PC first for the commands to get picked up.

Hey A FATAL ERROR, can you try going to Live TV settings, troubleshooting, then enable Surround Sound (Beta)?

Regarding Media Center, we don't have anything to announce currently regarding media center support.

A media center app on the XB1 is only a stop gap solution from my perspective. Ideally W10 should improve the experience by integrating live and recorded TV option through the oneguide. This could be accomplished in a variety of ways. Booting into Media
Center from the XB1 dashboard is silly given that everything else, guide, movie and TV store is already integrated. I love Media Center but I want a BETTER solution with 10. That should be the goal here.

Do you know if the new media app can play either live or recorded TV from a Windows Media Center PC?

Back in the day the 360 in conjunction with a Media Center PC made a pretty good DVR and that was one of its most underrated features as far as I'm concerned.
