Live TV and Comcast set top boxes

Is there a list of set top boxes that is known to interface with the XBox One? I've been through 7 cab,e boxes and 4 consoles. All I know so far is that the Cisco RNG150N does not work. Does a relationship between Comcast and Microsoft exist? Doesn't seem
like the firmware ever jives for more than a couple months. I can't even explain how frustrating this quest has been. Any help?

    :)

  2. Trouble with Xbox One Guide

I tried setting up live TV and the One guide. The TV accepts the voice commands but I can't get my cable box to accept commands during set up. When it asks for the brand of the set top box, I tried using Comcast and Cisco which don't work. What exactly am
    I doing wrong here?

    Set Top Box= Cisco

    Cable Provider= Comcast

  3. Can I run Xbox One live TV without a cable box with an HDMI outlet?

New Xbox One, is it true I need a cable top-box that is set up for and has HDMI outlet. I have Comcast Cable with a Motorola DCH70 cable box and an Infinity wireless box, but I do not get HDTV and neither box has an HDMI outlet. Is there anyway to get
Xbox One Live TV & benefits thereto without upgrading to Comcast HDTV and new HDTV top-box with HDTV outlet?

Hey Gary, sorry for the frustration. We actually have the RNG150N boxes (and many other Comcast boxes) in the office and they work well.

Can you let me know the models of Cable boxes you've tried? Have you tried a different HDMI cable? What are the symptoms you see? No signal?

I've tried models from Motorola, Scientific Atlanta and Cisco. All end up with the same syptoms. Freezing screen that eventually goes black. Comcast will no longer replace my set top box simply because it doesn't interface with an Xbox one. If you could
tell me how to get mine to work I would be very grateful because your support team cannot.

  6. That really stinks, I'm sorry. Things should be working better than they are right now, but here are some troubleshooting steps to try.

-Make sure the HDMI cable is firmly placed in the Xbox One's HDMI-in port. The ports or cables can be loose sometimes. I find that the HDMI cable that comes with the Xbox works best for HDMI-in and I just use a different cable for HDMI out.

-With the Xbox One turned on and the Comcast box connected to the Xbox via HDMI, pull the power cord from the Comcast box, wait 10 seconds and reconnect it.

-Do a hard reboot of the Xbox One by pressing and holding the power button on the Xbox One for 10 seconds.

-If your Comcast box is turned off and you hit the "Menu" button on your remote, this will bring up a "secret" settings menu for some Comcast boxes (not the X1 though). If it comes up, try changing things to very basic settings: Stereo not surround sound,
    720P not 1080i video, etc.

-In the Display & Sound and TV & OneGuide settings, try resetting or simplifying any video and audio settings there. Put things to auto-detect, 60hz, stereo, etc.

Do you have any other devices in the HDMI chain, or just STB -> Xbox -> TV?

    No Audio

I had this exact same problem and struggled with it for a while with my Comcast RNG110 set top box - no audio when going through TV, but all other audio from the XBox One worked. Tried changing a bunch of settings in my set top box and nothing worked. I
figured it was an HDMI cable issue but I didn't have another HDMI cable so I simply switched the cables (the HDMI cable that ran between the set-top box and the XBox now runs between the XBox and the TV and the one from the XBox to the TV now runs between
the XBox and the set-top box). Everything works perfectly now!
