Another user recently had luck in redownloading his Xbox Live profile. To do this:

- Go to Settings --> System --> Storage --> All Devices --> Profiles

- Delete your profile that you're having issues with. Be sure to select "Delete Profile Only"!

- Once deleted, go to Settings --> System --> Storage --> Highlight your storage device

- Press "Y" on the controller, and go to "Clear System Cache"

- Repeat this 3 times to ensure the cache is 100% Clear

From here, restart the console. Then press the Xbox Guide button on your controller. When you do this, then select "Download Profile" and redownload profile.

If this doesn't work, please let us know the results of the network test and we can look further into this. Thanks!

Can you son login to Xbox.com using his e-mail and password? If so, are you sure that your putting in the exact e-mail and password that's on file (like you would if you were logging in on Xbox.com)?

If both of those check out, have your son try to
reset his password and see if he is able to then download his profile to your console.

made another profile. Same behavior, IF game disc in drive profile logs in but not to xbox live IF no game disc in drive profile logs in and logs into live.

So I logged onto my 360 and it logged me straight into live - I then turned that off and logged back on the xbox one and it now logs me into live - I messaged a friend in the US who says this happens to him regularly - to fix the no Xbox live he logs out
of his profile and back in - good grief - hope it helps someone

If you're getting a problem like this please contact XBOX Support and speak with them about this. It seems there might be something wrong with the actual account if you've tried resetting the e-mail password multiple times and in a different browser.
