Live Gold Voucher to Gamepass

My parents purchased a 12 month Xbox Live Gold voucher as a gift. I also recently subscribed to gamepass. I would ideally like to have the 12 months of gold and then pay for the gamepass myself, but when attempting to redeem my code I get no choice but
to convert to gamepass ultimate. Do I just cancel my gamepass and then re-up after I redeem my gold voucher, or is there another option?

The below is taken from the
Gamepass FAQ:

After you join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can continue to redeem Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass codes. These codes will automatically convert to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a ratio based on the ERP (Estimated Retail
Price) of those codes. Conversion ratio subject to change.

The reason why this happens is that your Ultimate includes both Live Gold and GamePass and your voucher is therefore redeemed and converted to reflect this. There is also always a warning before and Live Gold or Gamepass voucher is being added to an ultimate
subscription as mentioned by Salmoro.

You would either cancel Ultimate in order to go ahead and use the 12 month before adding it, or wait for your current subscription to end and then use the code. Those would be the only ways to use the full 12 months. Otherwise, you can also just add the
card and it will extend your Ultimate subscription by 4 months.

Yes in this case you will need to cancel your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to use your Xbox Live Gold pre paid card.

Because if you use the code right now i will change the 12 months for 4 or les le Game Pass Ultimate.

Hello NikMcNik,

GamePass Ultimate is the bundle itself of Gamepass and Live Gold, but it won't list that you have gold in your Xbox, if that is your question.

So it makes sense that your Live Gold is deactivated, cause you right now have enabled Gamepass Ultimate.

So :

Gamepass Ultimate ( Is like a bundle of Gamepass and Live Gold)

Xbox Live Gold

Gamepass

Will be shown as different subscriptions, cause these are technically different subscriptions, albeit Ultimate giving you both advantadges.
