Live Gold Trial not showing up on console (Xbox One)

I signed up for a trial of XBox Live Gold via the web: signed in with my same account i use on the xbox One, went to Live, Clicked on One Month Trial, Added my payment info. I can see a current subscription to a Live Trial and have had a receipt over email.

My trouble is that the console still doesn't show this gold trial. Its been 3 days and I have had the console on for about 3 lots of 2 hours (while gaming). Forza5 keeps saying "you need gold for this" . I tried Upload Studio and this also informs me that
i need a gold subscription. I checked my subscriptions under settings on the console and after entering my security pin it just tries to sign me up for a membership and doesn't show anything else.

Any ideas why the console is not synching with my Live account? (Connectivity is fine , I have been browsing OneDrive, Skype, installing games etc)

This is because your account is showing as Silver. In order to take advantage of the free one month gold trial you must create your account on the console and then accept the live trial.

 

Have you tried deleting your profile only and redownloading it?

 

Well for one thing you can't sign up for trials on the web

It has to be done via the console also unless it's one of the recent packages it's most likely only a 14day trial

which doesn't give you actual gold but silver membership with limited features

@ngocphi - its not a 14 day trial, its the one month trial for new accounts.

From the XBox Live site:

"You can also sign up for an Xbox Live Gold trial membership when you create your new account online. Here's how:

After you create a Microsoft account, sign in to the Subscriptions page.

Select Gold – 1 Month FREE Trial, then click Next.

Click Add a credit card.

Enter your billing information, then click Next.

Follow the prompts to complete the sign-up process."

Hmm tried the delete and re add of the profile but no better. What a con. Microsoft just do it to get the payment info and set an automated subscription! Yeah so I disabled that.

 

The problem is that here on the website you are showing as a Silver member which suggests that perhaps an error was made while setting up your membership. Please click the link below and post if you have a membership showing.

ngocphi is correct though that you cannot get trial memberships online and that the maximum time of a trial membership is 14 days. These are limited memberships (usually limited to the game that it came with) and only offer some online features.

If you were applying for a membership online there would have been a charge for it.

The only way to get a free one month trial is by following these steps:

A new Xbox 360 console comes with 3 free 1 month trials.

1. Create a brand new gamertag on your console

2. When it asks if you want to join Live say no

3. It will offer you a free one month trial

Those trials are only available for a brand new tag and cannot be stacked.

 

Hey there, Screamingblues! To get the best visibility for your issue, I went ahead and moved you over to the Accounts forums for Xbox One. If Onyx and ngocphi aren't able to help you out, some of the other community members may be able to point you in the
right direction.

 

Onyx MS should take down that knowledge base article then as it clearly days that you can get a 1 month good trial from the website. If you can't, then the article is misleading.

Anyway I've gone and bought a years' membership. I am just a bit hacked off. I mean I buy a premium console Including kinect and then MS make it intentionally hard to apply a well advertised offer.

Oh well guess this is the new Microsoft (just as bad as the old Microsoft)

Hey all, I FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM.

HERE IS THE SOLUTION:

When I singed in for one month trial, my region (hotmail, outlook, microsoft) was United States.

But my region on my console (xbox 360) was India. That is why my subscription was not showing.

To see your one month trial subscription in your console go to this link and migrate to your region where you applied for free one month trial:

live.xbox.com/.../AccountMigration

be sure to change the locale in your console too.
