Live Gold sharing not working on replacement console

Our old Xbox One S broke, so I bought a new one. I have set it up fine and logged on with my account that has Live Gold (renews in April 2020), can access all the games and play online. However the two kids (silver) accounts can't play online. They get a
page that says "Pick the plan that's right for you", which is asking them to buy a gold account. Initially this Xbox One wasn't the home console. I fixed that, but the same issue occurs. I have also removed the old Xbox from my Microsoft account, also no help.
Restarting, waiting days etc. also not working. We also have an external hard disk which meant we didn't have to re download a lot of the games, in case the is significant.

I have run out of things to try, and web searches aren't helping much. Any experts can help me?

Thanks for letting us know. The kids accounts may have games on them also so this would need to be done in that case. I will go ahead and lock this thread as it has been resolved. Please feel free to come back to the forums if you have any other

Yes, under settings, general, personalization, my home Xbox is says Remove this as my home Xbox. I should have enough switches as this is the first time I have done it, the first Xbox One lasted 3-4 years.

You set the console as the home xbox of the account with the Gold subscription? Did you have a switch left?

I think I have just worked this out. Although my Gold account had set the new console to be it's Home console, I hadn't set the children's accounts in the same way. So although they could play the games they couldn't play online. After I went into each of
the other added accounts and did the same thing, Settings, General, Personalisation, My Home Xbox, Make this my home xbox, they all seem to work. I didn't think that was a requirement. I hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

They have; it'll be replaced soon by shared Xbox Live Gold which will allow multiple accounts (on the same console, I believe) to use another profile's Gold membership for the one subscription.
