Live Gold Family Pack

I have to say, I've found the whole format of xbox 360 and their website frustrating and time consuming to say the least!

I have 2 children and one xbox 360 live gold subscription which I thought covered both of them... As it turns out, it covers me (and I never play the thing)... So I was investigating the family pack which is being extensively advertised on the xbox 360 website
touting 4 memberships for less than the cost of 2...

However, when I click 'more info' I get sent back to the top of the page.

If I select 'Get gold now' I get offered 1 month, 6 month or 12 month individual subscriptions but no offer to upgrade to family (My current Gold subscription expires in May). Same options on the xbox itself.

I did consider myself a fairly tech savvy person but honestly, this whole process really has me doubting my own ability to think logically and problem solve technical situations. It's like their goal is to confuse and frustrate!!!

How the!@#$%^& do I subscribe to a Gold family pack???

Microsoft just ended the Family Plan for good

Microsoft sent this announcement via e-mail to all Family Plan members. This is terrible for people who have more than one console. Also note (in bold) that this answers the questions about the Gold Live sharing on multiple consoles. So if you plan to throw out your 360's and game library and have you family glued to one Xbox One then you are good. Once you go that friends house your family cannot play in Live on either console unless you have an additional sub. Terrible.

 

Hey there, sorry to inform you, but the family plan has been discontinued which is why you're having these issues, no word if anything is going to replace it unfortunately.

 

Then why is it still listed ad advertised Here:

no it is not false advertising they just never updated that part of the site the family pack has been discontinued for a while now and those who had it were able to keep it for about 3 months after disbanding. I am sure that once all the remaining family
pack accounts expire past that extension THEN the site will be updated but that is just a theory.

 

You mean to tell me that I would have to purchase individual memberships for all 4 members of my family? I like to pay yearly, so therefore the cost would be $239.96 US?? The family gold pack was only about $160.00 US and included all 4 of us with all
the bells and whistles. If this is true, then I guess I will have no choice but to switch to another console. It would be $40 cheaper, the console costs less, and it has pretty much the same perks as XBox Live. Someone care to challenge that logic?

 

Well you could go for the Xbox One where you can use the one gold membership for your family, making it only $80 year saving you a lot more:

They are bunch of greedy crooks. They are trying to push everyone to get the xbox one because sales are not what they expected. too bad we cant get enough people to sign a petition to get the family pack back. Or even better get people to cancel their
subscription and youll see how fast they change their tune.

 

Worse thing they ever come up with. Not to mention the description doesnt cover a whole lot on the membership for family.

Just another way for them to make a slew of money.

Another thing I didn't care for is the fact they never did follow through with their word on backward compatibility with their older games. What a rip off!

I am not going to buy anything new from them till they bring back the backward compatibility and the family pack.

 

if I can't buy a family pack I am going to take this x box one back to the store why sell you titanfall if you can't play it without spending money? oh yeah they still got to make more money it is not a game it is an expense for you and income for many years
to come for them!

This is still only for one persons account though... I have an xbox one and enjoy xbox live home on that, I still use my 360 for gta 5 and I have 3 children that play on the 360 more than they play on the xbox one because their favourite games are on it...
They are all under 10 years old, it seems a bit odd for me to be expected to pay out for three more subscriptions at £40 each just for the 360 when we have an xbox one we can all go online on in the same house!! especially As it looks like Microsoft are trying
to make the 360 redundant for the new console.. HOME GOLD should benefit all xbox consoles in the home.. If smartglass can connect seamlessly via wifi network to consoles why can't the xbox one connect to other consoles on the same network to share the home
gold benefits?
