Live Credential Issue

If you do not have two step verification on another thing that you want to make sure is that your password is not longer then 16 characters the 360 console does not like passwords that are 16 characters or longer.

try the following steps in this exact order:

1. Check
   https://account.live.com/proofs/manage to see if at least two security proofs are setup and verified. A phone number and alternate email would be best
   
2. Delete your profile from the console, be sure to delete only the profile, to do so check this link:
   
   http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/profile-move-delete make sure to delete any partial/corrupt files at profiles too
3. Clear the console cache, see this link for the how to:
   http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/settings-and-initial-setup/clear-system-cache twice
4. Turn the console off.
5. Turn the console on.
6. Clear the console cache one more time
7. Redownload your profile.(See the same link as 2.)

Keep in mind that the Xbox 360 can Not handle long passwords, if I recall correctly if the password is longer then 16 characters it will not work properly on the 360, in that case choose a shorter password

Solution 1: Turn off two-step verification

If you no longer want to use two-step verification, you can easily turn it off:

1. Using a web browser,
   sign in to your account.
2. Under Security & privacy, select Manage advanced security.
   
3. Select Turn off two-step verification.
4. When you’re prompted for confirmation, select Yes.

Solution 2: Use an app password to sign in to Xbox Live on your Xbox 360 console

If you’ve turned on two-step verification, you’ll need to use an app password when you download your Xbox profile or sign in to your Xbox 360 console.

If you’ve forgotten your app password, or if you didn’t set one up, you can generate a new app password and sign in to your console. Here’s how:

1. Using a web browser,
   sign in to your account.
2. Under Security & privacy, select Manage advanced security. If you're prompted for a security code here, enter it and select
   Submit.
3. Under App passwords, select Create a new app password. A new password is generated and appears on your screen.
   
4. On your Xbox 360 console, sign in to Xbox Live using your Microsoft account email address and the app password you generated in step 3 instead of your Microsoft account password.
   

Make sure the Remember Password checkbox is selected if you don't want to re-enter an app password each time you sign in to this console.

Note If you’ve forgotten your app password, you can use these same steps, removing the prior app password first, or you can turn off two-step verification.

Solution 3: If you don’t have two-step verification turned on


If you don’t have two-step verification turned on, you may have typed the wrong password. Try again, or
reset your account password.
