    Lisence Transfer question

So me and my brother each have our own XB1s. Now if I make my xbox his account's home Xbox and he makes his Xbox my account's home Xbox, does that mean we'll be able to share all of our games with each other? Even future purchases?

    :)

    BO2 Revolution map pack transfer

A lisence transfer only transfers you console lisences for content from one console to another.

It cannot be used to transfer content from one profile to another.

Like CISphil said, you will need to use the profile that originally purchased the content to continute using the add-ons.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

    Cheers!

Contact phone support and explain the situation to them. They may be able to do a manual transfer for you.

So Long as you are both in the same household.

Game sharing outside of one house, could lead to a ban.

    Be careful.

It's kind of a grey area on the One because of how they set up the Home setting, but for the 360 it's considered marketplace theft and people have been banned for it.

"if they ban people from doing it pretty sure it would have happened by now!!" - AXIOMS OF FATE

Some gamers have claimed that they've received forced gamertag changes after using their gamertags for years. I think some things actually come down to being reported.

With that said, there is nothing in the actual terms stating that the person you share games with has to live in your house. There are probably millions of people sharing their games with friends. If they were getting
banned it would be a huge story on all the gamer sites.
    IMO.

  9. I do not need to prove it.

It is already in the TOU - If you would care to read up.

The Bit in Red is it is it? No sorry mate that is not what that means in regards to home sharing.

Show me the bit where it says that Home sharing with someone not in your house is against the TOU?

If that were true i would be breaking the TOU by taking mt HDD with my digital games to a friends place.

This is a grey area indeed, using the your home console feature is for the console you use mostly, and anybody on that console can use the content, the reason you can take your hdd with you is that you can sign in on a friends console and use the content
on your drive whilst logged in. technically your only supposed to set your personal xbox to be your home console and they give you three changes per year in case the console breaks, to set another persons console as the home console is in breach of the terms
anyway, as you need to leave your profile on their console which your not supposed to do, so technically they have this issue covered there anyway.

dug up some info on the actual terms for the home setting here

In regards to the hit you highlight. Home sharing does the same as a friend having his profile on your machine. Depending on how it's set up they don't actually have the sign in details just a profile sitting on another console. MS could easily fix this
if they see it as a breach by removing the function. Until they do its using the machines features as intended.

Rippen, you are missing the point.

It is called HOME sharing. Being that you are sharing the game in your home. Not 45 miles away, not 10 miles away, not even 1 mile away.

Microsoft could ban anyone who GAME shares, whenever they want to. They only have to check the IP addresses of anyone who logs in, when they do, especially if they are playing the same game from two different areas.

The only reason they probably are not banning or removing the system, (Like Sony are!). Is because they don't want to upset the apple cart when it comes to selling their console. They could enforce the policy any time they wanted. But could you imagine the
outcry that would ensue from them blocking the accounts of anyone who shares games.

How many customers do you think they would lose. As it stands, currently. It is a plus you can do it. But don't be surprised when they enforce it

I believe "Home" sharing was meant for the home. Lol. Not saying they didn't take into account some may have multiple residences, but I definitely think some are "abusing" what was intended for sharing. I can assure you it was not for you and some friend
to save money; otherwise they would heavily market it. I would take a bet that it goes away or gets radically changed.

    Peace, J.R.

I'm not missing the point at all. If that were the case they could make it function of the same IP address couldn't they, and block anything else.
