  1. Lip sync issue with blu ray app

bought the Xbox s primarily for playing 4k movies and got it setup yesterday but watching Deadpool last night there was terrible lip sync and I stopped watching it as it ruined the movie.

I dont game so the TV is not in game mode which another forum question suggested would be an answer to the problem by turning of game mode.

Anything else I can try, TV audio sync doesn't help but makes it worse.

    :)

    Serious Blu-ray Player App Issues

There are two huge issues with the Blu-ray Player app:

    1. lip-sync issues when the console is set to 24Hz Blu-ray Video Playback.
    2. No HDMI audio pass-through to receiver.
The lip-sync issue is quite bad. If I disable the "24Hz Video Playback" in the console System Settings, lip-sync is fine. My HDTV supports 24Hz video, and I expect the Xbox One to properly support this. I have a Pioneer VSX-32 which supports 24Hz HDMI,
and decodes all HD audio codecs (DTS-MA, Dolby TrueHD, etc.) In order for the Blu-ray player app to be of any use for me, it must have these two issues fixed.

Blu ray app lip sync issue

I am also having lip sync issues with the blu ray app. I can't watch the movie because I'm so focused on how the sound isn't right.

Lip sync issue with blu ray app

Cant really say I've had an issue with lipsync on the console, though mine is the original XB1 and not the new XB1s.

Is the sound behind the picture or vice versa?

If it the sound is before the picture I can only think that your TV is doing some "post processing" to make the picture look as good as possible.

the other option could be that if you have the sound going through a surround sound setup, this could be causing a problem.

  5. The Xbox one s is going directly into the TV it's an LG950V OLED 4k TV.

The sound is after the picture so I can see the lips move and then the sound is heard. I understand from the AV forums for this TV that others also are having the same issue.

Going through my AV receiver seems fine but it is only 1080p so no good for 4k movies.

    2 options for you

try a different cable as the tv might not be liking the cable

go to setting on the tv and go to audio, look for av sync and adjust to your liking

are you getting the lip sync issue from the tv speaker or ar you going to the tv and then the av unit from the tv to get surround sound, if so you will need to adjust the sync on the av unit also.

  7. I also seem to have this issue but with a Samsung 4K tv. The video and sound seem massively out. I have tried direct hdmi and through a Sony av receiver. The amp can delay audio to 300ms but not speed it up. A few people I have spoke to also are suffering
with this issue and any films are unwatchable. It's as bad as video can be onto the next scene! Had anyone any ideas or is this a general software issue with the new bluray app?

Lip sync issue with blu ray app

Just a thought, but is the lip sync from blurays or is it from say Sky Q that goes into the Xbox One, and then into the TV?

The reason I'm asking is that I've had the issue with lip syncing on Sky for ages, but only when Sky is plugged into the Xbox One and then passed through to the TV.

It gets so bad that I'm no longer using the passthrough ability of the Xbox One, I'm sure in the good ole US of A it works just fine, but here in Blighty (where we watch TV at 50hz and not 60) it doesn't seem to work.

Watching a Blu-ray though has always been fine.

  9. Just from the Xbox bluray player app. Don't seem to notice the delays in any games. The passthrough on the console isn't active for sky q as of yet as doesn't support 4K. Even with optical or just direct to tv the bluray playback is unwatchable. As I said
before, films can be onto the next scene whilst the audio is still finishing up. This has to be software related.

I have noticed that on the
    Xbox Live Status page
, the Blu Ray App says it is having issues. Don't know how an app can have issues, but its on there.

Possibly this is linked to your problems your having

  11. Having the same problem too, having bought the Xbox one s yesterday, and again like the original poster, I too wanted it primarily for its 4k and uhd capability..........

The 4k won't pass through the amp, (Sony) which has 4k pass through switched on?! So hdmi straight into the tv, 4k now recognised but the lip sync is out, sound behind the pic on any picture mode, slightly less on a uhd film compared to a blu ray but still
very irritating and making it unwatchable to me. Not to mention the lack of true hd or master audio sound?!?! Haven't tried any of the apps yet as I'm debating wether or not to return it for a refund.

All cables are hi speed & ethernet hdmi so have no reason to believe it's them at fault. Help anyone please!!!! As this is my first Xbox I can't say I'm impressed so far

Id just like to point you to my previous post showing that the Xbox Live support page says they are having problems with the Xbox One Blu Ray app.

    Just saying.

    [quote user="Jayadub"]

All Blu-ray players use software for playback. It is called firmware and generally is user updateable. The Xbox One is a proper Blu-ray player that has issues at the moment. Lip sync and no 3D playback among them.

I don't need to download an app to use my Blu-ray player and it updates its own firmware.

    Blu-Ray Player App Problem...

I had the same happen with one of my Blu-ray discs.. But all the others worked ok.

    Not tried a DVD yet.

The Blu-ray playback has lip-sync problems, so they will hopefully get this app thoroughly reviewed.

Now they just have to fix the lip sync issue for Blu-ray when you have the 24 fps enabled and it will be usable... :(
