    Linksys: Port Forwarding


    Linksys (Routers): Port Forwarding
    Login Information

    • Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    • Username: user
    • Password: (provided by the ISP) (or left blank)
    Port Forwarding

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.0.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted. Enter in “user” for the user name and the provided password from your ISP (if they did not provide a password the field should be left blank, should that not work please contact your ISP for the password).
    4. Select Router from the menu at the top.
    5. Select Application from the submenu below that.
    6. In the service name box enter Xbox.
    7. For the Starting Port and Ending Port please enter 3074.
    8. For protocol please select both or TCP/UDP. (If that is unavailable just make a second entry using the other protocol.)
    9. Enter the Xboxs IP address into the Server IP Address box.
    10. Select yes from the enable drop down.
    11. Select Submit All Changes near the bottom of the page.


    Disable Port Forwarding

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.0.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted. Enter in “user” for the user name and the provided password from your ISP (if they did not provide a password the field should be left blank, should that not work please contact your ISP for the password).
    4. Select Router from the menu at the top.
    5. Select Application from the submenu below that.
    6. Select no from the enable drop down next to all the rules you no longer wish to have enabled.
    7. Select Submit All Changes near the bottom of the page.

    • Login Username - "Leave Blank"
    • Login Password - admin

    Port Forwarding

    1. Set a manual IP address on the xbox. (click here to find out how to do this)
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    4. When prompted, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.
    5. Select Applications And Gaming from the menu at the top.
    6. Select Port Range Forwarding from the sub menu.
    7. In the first available empty box type "Xbox360" for the Application.
    8. Enter "3074" in both the Start and End boxes.
    9. For Protocol select "Both" from the dropdown.
    10. Type in the last octet of the IP address that was set in the xbox.
    11. Check the Enable box.
    12. Click Save Settings.


    Disabling Port Forwarding

    1. Set a manual IP address on the xbox. (click here to find out how to do this)
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    4. When prompted, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.
    5. Select Applications And Gaming from the menu at the top.
    6. Select Port Range Forwarding from the sub menu.
    7. Uncheck any of the Enable boxes for rules set up for the xbox.
    8. Click Save Settings.

    *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then there are several other options for logging in.

    One method is to use Cisco Connect again. Once the program has started click "Router Settings". Your network name and password are listed on the right. From here you can update this information should you choose.

    Second method is from within Cisco Connect Choose router settings and then from the right column choose advanced and follow the on screen instructions to get to the web based interface.

    Port Forwarding

    1. Set a manual IP address on the xbox.
    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the
      internet browser.
    4. The router will then prompt for a user name and password. The default is that user name is “admin” and the password is “admin”.
    5. Select Applications And Gaming from the top.
    6. Select port range forwarding from the sub menu.
    7. In the first available empty box type Xbox360 for the Application
    8. Enter 3074 in both the Start and End boxes.
    9. For Protocol select Both from the dropdown.
    10. Type in the last octet of the IP address that was set in the xbox.
    11. Check the Enable box.
    12. Click Save Settings at the bottom.

    8. Click Save Settings at the bottom.
