    Login Information



    Username - admin

    Password - admin

    Gateway - 192.168.1.1





    *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then there are several other options for logging in.

    One method is to use Cisco Connect again. To use this, you will have to search for in All Programs in the Start Menu on the computer that you installed the Cisco Connect Software on.

    Once the program has started, click where it says change in the section labeled "Router Settings". Your network name and password are listed on the left in the section titled Personalize. From here you can update this information should you choose
    to by clicking on change.

    The second method is through a web based utility that you can access through Cisco Connect. To access the web based utility, Choose router settings from the main Cisco Connect menu. Then from the section on the right, click on Advanced Settings. There
    will be a warning that will come up, telling you that this web utility is for expert use only. Click “OK” on this screen.



    How to Find SSID (Network Name)

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Wireless from the left.
    5. Within the Wireless tab your network SSID’s will be displayed for both your 2.4 and 5.0GHz networks labeled Network name (SSID).




    Wireless Passphrase

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Connectivity from the menu on the left.
    5. Within the Basic tab your password will be listed as Network password.




    Changing Wireless Security Type/ Disabling Wireless Security

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. Within the wireless tab select edit next to the network you want to change
    6. In the Security mode drop down select your desired security type.
    7. Select Apply.




    MAC Filtering

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. Select the MAC Filtering tab on the top.
    6. Uncheck the MAC Filters box.
    7. Select Apply.




    Change Wireless Channel

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. Within the wireless tab select edit next to the network you want to change.
    6. From the drop down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11).
    7. Select Apply.




    Change Wireless Mode

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. Within the wireless tab select edit next to the network you want to change.
    6. From the Network mode drop down select “Wireless G-Only”.
    7. Select Apply.




    Change Wireless Band (Frequency)

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
    5. Within the wireless tab select edit next to the network you want to change.
    6. Within the Channel width drop down select “20 MHz Only”.
    7. Select Apply.


    DHCP Reservation

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. Select Local Network from the menu at the top.
    6. Select DHCP Reservations from the bottom.
    7. In the Select Devices area find your device and choose the radio button for that device and then hit Add DHCP Reservation.
    8. Select Ok.




    UPnP

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. From the menu at the top select Administration.
    6. Toggle UPnP.






    DMZ

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Security.
    5. From the menu at the top select DMZ.
    6. Toggle DMZ to ON.
    7. In the source IP Address select Any IP Address.
    8. In the Destination IP Address select MAC Address.
    9. After selecting MAC Address click View DHCP Client Table.
    10. Select the Xbox from this list.
    11. Select Apply.




    Disable DMZ

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Security.
    5. From the menu at the top select DMZ.
    6. Toggle DMZ to OFF.
    7. Select Apply.




    Port Forwarding

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Security.
    5. From the menu at the top select Apps and Gaming.
    6. Select Single Port Forwarding from the sub menu.
    7. Select Add a new Single Port Forwarding.
    8. In the following Screen enter an Application name that indicates something to do with Xbox Live (XBL).
    9. Set both the External port and Internal port to 3074.
    10. Set the Protocol to Both.
    11. Enter the IP address of the Xbox into the Device IP#.
    12. Check the enabled box.
    13. Select Save and then select Apply.




    Disable Port Forwarding

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Security.
    5. From the menu at the top select Apps and Gaming.
    6. Select Single Port Forwarding from the sub menu.
    7. Select Delete on all open port forwarding rules set for Xbox live.
    8. Select Apply.




    Firewall

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Security.
    5. From the menu at the top select Firewall.
    6. Uncheck IPv4 firewall protection and IPv6 firewall protection.
    7. Select Apply.




    How to Find Firmware Version

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. Select Basic from the menu from the top.
    6. Your firmware version will be listed as “Current Version”.






    Firmware Update

    Automatic

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. Select Basic from the menu from the top.
    6. Select Check for Updates within the Firmware Update box.
    7. If an update is available follow the instructions on screen to download the update.
    Manual

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. Select Basic from the menu from the top.
    6. Select Choose File in the Manual box.
    7. In an alternate web browser or tab go to www.Linksys.com and download the updated software.
    8. Locate and select the file you just downloaded and uncompressed.
    9. Select Start to begin the process. This loads the new software in the router and causes the router to restart. Note: Do not try to go online, turn off the router, shutdown the computer or do anything else to the router until the router
      finishes restarting! Wait a few more seconds before doing anything.
    10. After the process is completed refresh the page and check to make sure the current version has been updated.






    Restore Factory Defaults

    Through Firmware

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. Select Troubleshooting from the menu on the left.
    5. Select Reset under the Factory reset section.




    Through Hardware

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Using a toothpick or tip of ballpoint pen press and hold the reset button located on the bottom of the device for 15 seconds or until all the ethernet link lights flash in unison.






    Entering PPPoE

    This feature is unavailable.





    Multiple Console Support



    We have confirmed that this network device is unable to support more than one console with an Open NAT.

    5. Select "DMZ Host" from the new menu at the top.
    6. Enter the last digit(s) of the IP address on the Xbox in the "DMZ Host IP Address" box.
    7. Select Apply.




    Disable DMZ



    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.
    4. Select "Advanced Setup" from the menu at the top.
    5. Select "DMZ Host" from the new menu at the top.
    6. Enter "0" into the "DMZ Host IP Address" box.
    7. Select Apply.




    Port Forwarding



    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.
    4. Select "Advanced Setup" from the menu at the top.
    5. Select "Forwarding" from the new menu at the top.
    6. Enter "Xbox" in the first available row under the "Customized Applications" column.
    7. Enter 3074 into both the "Ext. Port" and the "Int. Port" columns.
    8. Check both the "Protocol TCP" and the "Protocol UDP" check boxes.
    9. Enter the last digit(s) of the IP address on the Xbox in the "IP Address" column.
    10. Check the "Enable" check box.
    11. Select Apply.




    Disable Port Forwarding



    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.
    4. Select "Advanced Setup" from the menu at the top.

    6. Locate the port forwarding rule to be disabled.
    7. Uncheck the "Enable" check box.

    MAC Filtering

    6. Select "Edit MAC Filter Settings".
    7. Select "0) 1~10" from the "Filtered MAC Address" drop down menu.
    8. Delete any entries from "mac 1" through "mac 10".
    9. Select Apply.
    10. Select Apply again.




    Entering PPPoE



    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, leave the user name blank and enter "admin" for the password.
    4. Select "Setup" from the menu at the top.
    5. Select "PPPoE" from the "WAN connection Type" drop down box.
    6. Enter the PPPoE user name and the password provided by the internet services provider.
    7. Select the radio button for "Keep Alive".
    8. Select Apply.




    Firewall

    4. Select "Wireless" from the menu at the top.
    5. Select "Basic Wireless Settings" from the sub menu.
    6. The wireless network name will be labeled as "Wireless Network Name (SSID)".

    How to Find Wireless Passphrase (WPA/WEP)

    1. Open a web browser.

    3. When prompted, enter "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.
    4. Select "Wireless" from the menu at the top.

    Changing Wireless Security Type/ Disabling Wireless Security

    4. Select "Wireless" from the menu at the top.

    10. Enter the last digit(s) of the IP address on the Xbox into the "IP Address" column.
    11. Check the "Enable" check box.
    12. Select Save Settings.

    7. Select Save Settings.

    Entering PPPoE

    3. When prompted, enter "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.
    4. Select "Setup" from the menu at the top.
    5. Select "Basic Setup" from the sub menu.
    6. Select "PPPoE" from the "Internet Connection Type" drop down menu.
    7. Enter the PPPoE User Name and Password provided by your internet service provider.
    8. Select the "Keep Alive" radio button.
    9. Select Save Settings.
