    Login Information



    Username - admin

    Password - admin

    Gateway - 192.168.1.1

    Firmware Update

    Automatic

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. Select Basic from the menu from the top.
    6. Select Check for Updates within the Firmware Update box.
    7. If an update is available follow the instructions on screen to download the update.
    Manual

    1. Open a web browser.
    2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
    3. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

      *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then the password will be your wireless password.
    4. From the menu on the left select Connectivity.
    5. Select Basic from the menu from the top.
    6. Select Choose File in the Manual box.
    7. In an alternate web browser or tab go to www.Linksys.com and download the updated software.
    8. Locate and select the file you just downloaded and uncompressed.
    9. Select Start to begin the process. This loads the new software in the router and causes the router to restart. Note: Do not try to go online, turn off the router, shutdown the computer or do anything else to the router until the router finishes restarting!
      Wait a few more seconds before doing anything.
    10. After the process is completed refresh the page and check to make sure the current version has been updated.

    *Note* If Cisco Connect was used to configure the router then there are several other options for logging in.



    One method is to use Cisco Connect again. To use this, you will have to search for in All Programs in the Start Menu on the computer that you installed the Cisco Connect Software on.



    Once the program has started, click where it says change in the section labeled "Router Settings". Your network name and password are listed on the left in the section titled Personalize. From here you can update this information should you choose to by
    clicking on change.



    The second method is through a web based utility that you can access through Cisco Connect. To access the web based utility, Choose router settings from the main Cisco Connect menu. Then from the section on the right, click on Advanced Settings. There will
    be a warning that will come up, telling you that this web utility is for expert use only. Click “OK” on this screen.

    How to Find Firmware Version

    2. Open a web browser.
    3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.1.1) into the address bar of an internet browser.
    4. When prompted, enter in "admin" for the user name and "admin" for the password.

    5. Select Administration at the top.
    6. Click Firmware Upgrade from the sub-menu.
    7. In an alternate web browser or tab go to
      www.Linksys.com
      and download the updated software.
    8. Click Browse.
    9. Locate and select the file you just downloaded and uncompressed.
    10. Click Start Update to send the software to the router. This loads the new software in the router and causes the router to restart. Note: Do not try to go online, turn off the router, shutdown the computer or do anything else to the router until the router
      finishes restarting! Wait a few more seconds before doing anything.
    11. Click Status at the top and check the Firmware Version to verify that your router now has the new software installed.
