    By the way my buddy who had the same setup as me, fixed his problem by switching out his linksys with a Netgear and now he's good. But wasted money finding his setup. I'm tired of wasting hard earn money. MICROSOFT NEEDS TO TALK TO LINKSYS AND LINKSYS NEEDS

    We have the same ISP cant connect to each other on Live.

    This sounds like the same process for Linksys extenders. It took a few but reading the booklet that came with it helped me...once I set it up though it's good.

    Confirmed: No Media Centre Extender... No Backwards Compatibility... No Deal.

    They broke compatibility with all Extenders other than the Xbox 360 with Windows 8.

    So the echo is win 7 only. Also, the couple of times that Linksys extenders stopped working was because they check for firmware updates during boot and the server hosting the updates was down. You can avoid this by giving the Linksys a bogus DNS server
    setting. The last firmware update was in 2008.

    What makes this even scarier is windows 7 support ends in 2015.
