I'm not sure which graphical web interface you're using for your Linksys, but see if you can locate "Status" from the top menu bar. If so, click "Status" and "Router". Does the IP address, listed as "Internet IP address" match the one here: http://checkip.dyndns.com/

Make sure UPnP is ticked enable, and keep Port Forwarding and DMZ disabled.

Could you also visit Linksys support page and make sure your router's firmware is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

The Linksys E4200 (Belkin since 2013) come's with different versions, so make sure you pick the correct firmware that correspond with the hardware version of your router. The hardware version is labeled "V" and often located beside or beneath the model
number.

Please acknowledge and verify each step of the steps given to you. That way, I don't have to echo each step over and over and over and over again.

Let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.

 

Matty… You would save my life if you can please share with me your settings !! i have been praying i can find someone with my router that can share with me the settings so i can see what i can do about this issue easily. please that would be appreciated.

also, as for the game, no its not CoD, i don't play that game anyway. its mainly games like destiny and battlefield and gta 5 that i play plus party chats a lot.

now if i change the energy save mode will that solve the issue? because i have it on instant on but i find that i still have NAT issues even if i manually power off my console by holding power button for ten seconds.

Taidara: I will change my power settings tonight and report what happens.

as for the I.P Address I managed to find it, they match it seems!

UPnP is enabled by default so i didn't touch that, dmz is off, port forwarding is off i believe, it doesn't show an option for on or off but assuming that i didn't forward any ports, it would be off.

i will try first the power setting on my console as the two of you have suggested and see what happens.

 

So here's an update….

Last post i made here, i promised that I would change the power settings of my Xbox from Instant on to Energy Saver… funny thing is, prior to turning on my xbox, i had it fully off, meaning i held the power button down for ten seconds and had it fully shut
down despite being in instant on mode in the settings.

Just tonight as promised, i change the setting to energy saver mode and report back to you results. My console was in Open NAT prior to changing settings, i changed the settings to energy saver and the NAt was back to moderate!

Again this happened a few days ago when I had my console fully shut down for most of the day, i spoke to tech support with xbox, they suggested i clear the alternate mac address, the console restarted and prior to restarted it was open NAT, and then it went
back to moderate…

there seems to be growing theme here with my console being open then moderate for no apparent reason…which leads me to believe the issue is in the router settings and the issue extends beyond just accepting that moderate NAT is okay. It seems that there
is a pretty serious problem if you ask me where my network has to be working pretty hard to be moving the traffic around my xbox and xbox live and I am now running out of ideas and options.

IF anyone has the link sys e4200 please update me with your settings !

I am desperate at this point.

Do you only have one Xbox console connected to your router?

Did you find out if your Linksys is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware, as suggested ad per my previous post.

also found out that the router is set for ipv4 and not ipv6 as i remember it used to be in the past.

 

I am sorta having same issue, I have E6500 Router and Arris Modem. my nat is moderate and went open ports i get DNS error on my internet and then internet wont work.

 

MattyMidWay, do you happen to have the screenshots you mentioned earlier? those could help me a lot with the xbox NAT issue

 

Could you go ahead reset your Linksys. Afterwards, reconfigure wireless and keep Filter Anonymous Internet Requests ticked disable and UPnP enabled.

If that didn't solve your situation, take the MAC address of the interface your current connection type (wired or wireless) and type it in under DHCP Reservation on your router, and reserv a unique IP address for your console.

With the reserved IP address, go to configure DMZ on your router and place the reserved address in the DMZ

Don't forget to save your settings.

Make sure the console has been assigned with the reserved address.

 

@snow - If you haven't already, go ahead and start a new thread with detailed description of your situation.

Also, make sure you post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well.
