    Linking my son's account to my live account


    My son has an xbox account which he has used regularly but recently it keeps asking him to sign in using his email address and password. Once we've done this it then says we need to sign in at xbox,com before he can use his profile (code 83118853)

    I then log in using my email address and get presented with a page that says "Let your child use a Microsoft account?". When I click "Yes" I get a message saying "We were unable to sign you in. Your account is missing a full name or date of birth. Visit
    account.live.com to update the required information, then try again." When I follow the link my name and date of birth are already present

    I have tried this with 2 different live accounts and get the same message each time. This is very frustrating for my son as he has a lot of saved games under his profile that he currently can't access

    I have two different account on my Xbox one for me and one for my son. If I got ea access on one of the accounts could the other account play those games.

    Yes! Your scenario above is exactly what they hope for, but it would all be using Xbox 360 consoles (I'm not sure if that makes a difference). Each console does have a separate copy of the game.

    I think each person does have an Xbox live account. I'm really unclear how Xbox live works even though I know I'm paying for it for my Son. Is the Xbox Live account attached to a specific account or is it attached to a specific console?

    My ESO account links to my gamertag on my Live account, so would I need to purchase the game again through my son's account, creating an ESO account linked to his gamertag? Would this work given that the Live account is shared?

    It's important to make sure you're linking the right Microsoft and PSN account, as this link is permanent and can't be changed afterwards. Once the accounts are linked together, neither the PSN nor Microsoft account can be linked to a different Microsoft/PSN. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

    An Xbox live account can be linked to any email address as far as I am aware??? I set one up for my sons friend so he can keep achievements and such when he is round at mine gaming with my son (let him use my 48hr gold trials for online) and I used one of
    my sub accounts email addresses I get with BT.

    Now if I'm reading your post correctly you said you used his Account to buy the content so there should not be any problem. Am I missing a part of the puzzle :)

    Most Games when purchased can be played by anyone on the console as long as the account that purchased the game is stored on the console(if it's Xbox One you need to set your console as the home console). Now with DLC it's tricky. That is down to the game
    developers and to be honest most DLC is gamer tag specific so it can not be shared for example if it's a map pack everyone needs to have purchased the map packs.

    Is your issue that your son will be using 2 console ? :) if yes will it be an Xbox One or 360

    So I suppose the answer is Games yes :) DLC most likely not :-(
