    Linking a Microsoft account with Minecraft Bedrock 1.16


    Hi,

    When I start up the game, and enter the starting screen, in the bottom left corner (I believe) it offers you to sign in with your Microsoft Account.

    When I try to do this it says that I already have an account linked the Gamer Tag for that is called "ReadingBobcat16". No one associated with this console has an account with that name so I am wondering if one of my nieces or nephews may have linked one of their accounts, but in any case I am wondering what I can do about it.

    I would really love to link my own account for obvious reasons. Any help is appreciated. I have not tried contacting Microsoft phone support or anything like that yet.

    Adding someone on Xbox to Ps4 on Mincraft

    They will need to have a Microsoft/Xbox account linked to their PS account to be able to play crossplay. Once they have the 2 accounts linked then you invite them om the Microsoft/Xbox account.

    You will have to be both on the same update version of the game. Currently it is 1.16.

    Please make sure that you are using the account you bought Minecraft: Bedrock Edition with. Log into that account, then download the new launcher for Minecraft (links below). It is a all-in-one launcher for Minecraft: Java, Minecraft: Bedrock, Minecraft Dungeons, and the upcoming Minecraft Legends.

    Once you download the launcher, select Microsoft login, and log into the same Microsoft account that you bought Minecraft: Bedrock with. Then, click Minecraft for Windows, and click "Install" or "Play"

    No. The java and bedrock edition are completely separate from eachother so if you want the java edition you will have to purchase it

    There are two versions of Minecraft. The original 'Java' edition and the newer 'Bedrock' edition. It is only the Bedrock edition that can be linked to your Xbox Live account (i.e. Microsoft account) and be played with other Xbox users. The Java edition can only be played on local LAN, realms, or online servers.

    Do you know which version you have? Java is normally purchased from the Minecraft website and Bedrock is normally purchased from the Microsoft store.

    Logging in on ps4

    Ps4 received the Bedrock version of Minecraft, meaning it is crossplay enabled now. However you need to have a Microsoft account to be able to play with your friends on other platforms.

    There is some issues with the linking/signing in of accounts on PS4.
