Linking 360 and xbox one

Hey guys, i only just went online when i got my xbox one, so my 360 gamertag was offline, didn't think about hooking them together in the beginning so have tried to link my 360 gamertag onto xbox live but it tells me that my email is already being used on
another gamertag (my xbox one)

Should i delete my xbox one account (which has nothing on it so far) so i can link up to my 360? Will that work or will it still say that my account is being used?

You could also try linking your card and billing information to a PayPal account, and linking this one to your XBOX.

As you can use your gamertag on the 360 AND the One I would suggest you use your "old" one on the One as well, so your gamerscore and everything else is going on.

Just log in to the One with the same credentials you use to log into the 360 and everything is fine, there is no need to transfer anything on xbl so you can use it on the One.

Go on your 360 and sign into your offline gamertag you want to use.

Then select join xbox live. As long as you do this when signed in it will convert your offline account into an online account and transfer your achievements over. You will need to create a new email address though because you already created an account on
your x1 using your current email.

After doing this sign into the x1 with the same email and password you used on the 360 then you will have same account on both.

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. We understand have issues when linking a Xbox 360 to an Xbox 0ne. When you set this up, have you had the Xbox 360 and Xbox one connected via an ethernet cable? Also on the Xbox one, is the game updated exactly
the same as the Xbox 360? The best thing I found would be to have all consoles connected via ethernet to your router for the system link. Here is a link for

system link on Xbox 360there isn't one for the Xbox one unfortunately.
