He can only share your games/gold on your Home console and you can only have 1 console set as your Home at a time.

Let me see if I can explain it a little better for you.

No matter what console an account/profile is signed into it will always be able to play its digital games and use any subscription that it has.

Each profile can set ONE console at a time as its home console and any other profile then can play that profiles digital games and use any subscription that it has.

Each profile can switch which console it has as its home console FIVE times a year.

So in your situation if you do not want to pay for another gold subscription and possibly 2nd game copies you would want to set the console that is at his moms house as your profiles Home console with that he would be able to play any of your digitally bought
games and use any subscription that you have without your account being signed in at the same time on that console.

On the console that you would have at your house you would always be able to play your games and use your subscriptions as long as that console is connected to the internet. Including playing your digitally bought games at the same time as your son.

Typically, whenever you purchase any games digitally, you can only launch them if you are signed in to your account and connected to Xbox Live. This can be superseded if you have your console configured as your accounts' Home Xbox. Having your console configured
as the Home Xbox also allows others on that console to launch your games without having to be signed in to your account.

Assuming you are the purchaser, use/set your account on the kids Xbox as home Xbox so he can play your games from his account, now on your Xbox just make sure you are connected to internet and you should have no issues and have some gaming fun!!
