Linked Social Accounts - is it safe for an 11 year old ?

My son plays Fortnite on his XBOX and interacts with his friends who also play in their homes

He is telling me that he can no longer interact with other gamers who are on other platforms (PS4 etc) and he says that he needs his social accounts linked

I am a little wary of doing this because of what it might expose and I need some guidance from others ?

Ok so i am confused.....he said that he used to be able to play against friends on PS4 until an updare esrlier this week and he now thinks he needs account linking ?

It's more of linking via the epic website but Xbox live and Playstation 4 cannot be played together so there isn't really a need to link them but fortnite has what they call an epic account which can have users from across all the platforms linked as a epic
friend I do believe it works that way on the website but don't think they can play side by side.

Hi thanks for reaching out. To be honest I feel as parent that is something completely up to you to consider. You can change and modify settings to help but again this is something overall up to you in my opinion.

He can play with his friends on other platforms when he has his epic account linked.

Social accounts aren't needed

All they need is an Epic account to play with anyone in Fortnite, no matter the console. As a parent myself, I would keep monitoring online activity because there is a lot out there that can harm our kiddos.
